Standing waves of nonlinear Schrödinger systems with all attractive forces
Abstract Since the pioneering work of Lin and Wei on nonlinear Schrödinger systems of n$n$ components with interaction forces aij$a_{ij}$ between the i$i$‐th and j$j$‐th components for 1⩽i,j⩽n$1\leqslant i,j\leqslant n$, there have been numerous further developments in many directions. However, even in the simplest case where all interaction forces are

Bose–Einstein condensation of 162Dy and 160Dy
We report Bose–Einstein condensation of two isotopes of the highly magnetic element dysprosium: ^162 Dy and $^{160}$ Dy. For ^162 Dy, condensates with 10 ^5 atoms form below T = 50 nK. We find the evaporation efficiency for the isotope ^160 Dy to be poor;

Strong Plasmon–Exciton Coupling Tuned by Corner Etching of Gold Nanocubes and Nanotriangles
Systematic etching of gold nanocubes (AuNCs) and nanotriangles (AuNTs) reveals how nanoparticle morphology governs plasmon–exciton strong coupling. While rounding the corners of AuNCs weakens their coupling, triangular geometries robustly preserve deep strong coupling.

Nucleation of Bose-Einstein condensation [PDF]
Using a functional formulation of the Keldysh theory we investigate the time evolution of a dilute Bose gas through the critical point. We determine the critical region of the gas and show that if the system is quenched inside this region, Bose-Einstein condensation is nucleated on a time scale of O(ħ/kBTc) by means of a coherent population of the one ...

Bell correlations in a Bose-Einstein condensate [PDF]
Correlating an atomic condensate Parts of a quantum system can be more “correlated” than what is allowed in the everyday classical world: A measurement on one part of the system can immediately affect a spatially distant component.

Photon‐Sphere Modes in Curved Optical Microcavities: A Black‐Hole Analogue Laser
An optical analogue of a Schwarzschild black hole is realized using curved microcavities that preserve light‐like geodesics. A new family of laser modes confined around the photon sphere is identified alongside conventional whispering‐gallery modes. Analytical theory, numerical simulations, and experiments reveal curvature‐induced confinement, enabling

Surface Excitations of a Bose-Einstein Condensate [PDF]
Surface modes in a Bose-Einstein condensate of sodium atoms have been studied. We observed excitations of standing and rotating quadrupolar and octopolar modes. The modes were excited with high spatial and temporal resolution using the optical dipole force of a rapidly scanning laser beam.

Qutrit Dynamics of Acoustically‐Driven Nitrogen‐Vacancy Centers
ABSTRACT We present a theoretical study of the interplay between the spin‐mechanical coupling and spin‐lattice relaxation in the dynamics of a nitrogen‐vacancy center in diamond. Single and double‐quantum spin transitions are driven by resonant acoustic pulses.
