Conformally invariant random fields, Liouville quantum gravity measures, and random Paneitz operators on Riemannian manifolds of even dimension

open access: yesJournal of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 110, Issue 5, November 2024.
Abstract For large classes of even‐dimensional Riemannian manifolds (M,g)$(M,g)$, we construct and analyze conformally invariant random fields. These centered Gaussian fields h=hg$h=h_g$, called co‐polyharmonic Gaussian fields, are characterized by their covariance kernels k which exhibit a precise logarithmic divergence: |k(x,y)−log1d(x,y)|≤C$\big ...

Performance of Rotation‐Symmetric Bosonic Codes in a Quantum Repeater Network

open access: yesAdvanced Quantum Technologies, Volume 7, Issue 6, June 2024.
This work shows the performance of a quantum repeater protocol embedded with the rotation‐symmetric bosonic codes in a quantum key distribution scenario. The secret key rate greatly outperforms the bound of direct channel transmission, as well as the rate of the cat codes.

The first α′-correction to homogeneous Yang-Baxter deformations using O(d, d)

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2020
We use the O(d, d)-covariant formulation of supergravity familiar from Double Field Theory to find the first α′-correction to (unimodular) homogeneous Yang-Baxter (YB) deformations of the bosonic string.

Bosonic technicolor in strings

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 1992
Abstract It is shown that strings provide a natural theoretical setting for bosonic technicolor. In particular, bosonic technicolor structure arises in a class of strings formulated in four dimensions. An example of a model with three generations and multi-Higgs structure is presented.

Bosonic String Dinamics

open access: yes
String Theory is a hot topic of physics and mathematics. For the former, it stands as a huge sandbox where the formulation of difficult problems can be simplified and their hard computations carried out. For the latter, it stands as a direct contribution upstream, going from physics to maths, rather than the usual other way around.

All-order splits and multi-soft limits for particle and string amplitudes

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
The most important aspects of scattering amplitudes have long been thought to be associated with their poles. But recently a very different sort of “split” factorizations for a wide range of particle and string tree amplitudes have been discovered away ...

Interpolating Action for Strings and Membranes - a Study of Symmetries in the Constrained Hamiltonian Approach

open access: yes, 2004
A master action for bosonic strings and membranes, interpolating between the Nambu--Goto and Polyakov formalisms, is discussed. The role of the gauge symmetries vis-\`{a}-vis reparametrization symmetries of the various actions is analyzed by a ...

Effective action of bosonic string theory at order α ′3

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
In this work, we derive the classical effective action of bosonic string theory at order α ′3 for the metric, Kalb-Ramond field, and dilaton by imposing a higher-derivative extension of the Buscher rules on the circular reduction of the minimal basis at ...

Pair Creation of Open Strings in an Electric Field

open access: yes, 1992
We calculate exactly the rate of pair production of open bosonic and supersymmetric strings in a constant electric field. The rate agrees with Schwinger's classic result in the weak-field limit, but diverges when the electric field approaches some ...

The bosonic string on string-size tori from double field theory

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2017
We construct the effective action for toroidal compactifications of bosonic string theory from generalized Scherk-Schwarz reductions of double field theory.
