Effects of Methyl Jasmonate on Fruit Quality and Disease Resistance of Mechanically Injured Banana Fruit During Storage

Treatment with MeJA delays ripening and reduces membrane lipid peroxidation of mechanically injured banana fruit. Treatment with MeJA enhances antioxidant ability and disease resistance of mechanically injured banana fruit. 10 μM MeJA effectively maintains fruit quality of mechanically injured banana fruit than that of 20 and 50 μM MeJA.

Synthesis and Antifungal Activity of Pyrimidine Derivatives Containing an Amide Moiety

In this study, 17 novel pyrimidine derivatives containing an amide moiety were synthesized. Then their in vitro antifungal activities against Botryosphaeria dothidea (B. dothidea), Phomopsis sp., and Botrytis cinereal (B. cinereal) were determined.

Fungal Species of Botryosphaeriaceae Associated With Avocado Dieback in Southern Spain

In southern Spain, water scarcity has favoured avocado diseases, causing branch dieback, mummified fruits and cankers. Between 2019 and 2022, 252 fungi were isolated; the most common were Neofusicoccum spp. and Lasiodiplodia sp. Their pathogenic role was confirmed, with Botryosphaeriaceae identified as the main cause of avocado dieback.
