Chemical Speciation of Vanadium in Coal Bottom Ash

open access: yesCLEAN – Soil, Air, Water, 2012
AbstractChemical speciation of vanadium is important to understand the true nature of this element in the environment as well as its biochemical pathways. Sample pretreatment, preparation, and chemical speciation methods were applied for vanadium in coal bottom ash here.

Mechanism of “seesaw‐type” rock burst in coal seam mining beneath mountainous areas

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
This study reveals the mechanism of “seesaw‐type” rock bursts during coal mining beneath mountainous areas. The advancing working face induces nonuniform fracturing of the overburden. The detached mountain mass then undergoes a seesaw‐type rotational movement around a shifting pivot, driving the primary fracture through a characteristic “open‐close ...

Charring Behaviour of Mass Timber: A Comparison of Thin Intumescent Coatings and Plasterboard

open access: yesFire and Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study compares the charring behaviour of mass timber under varied heating conditions when protected by either different thin intumescent coating types or fire‐rated plasterboard layers. Bench‐scale fire experiments were conducted using the Heat‐Transfer Rate Inducing System (H‐TRIS).

REMOVAL OF IRON IMPURITIES FROM FLY AND BOTTOM ASH BY NEODYMIUM MAGNET

open access: yesRMUTL Engineering Journal, 2018
In this research, fly and bottom ash samples from Mae Moh power plant, Lampang, Thailand were reported by XRF. The %Fe element in samples was nearly 10%. The neodymium permanent magnet was used to remove iron impurities in wet process. The results showed

Structural and Functional Stability of Natural Actomyosin From Freshwater Snail (Bellamya bengalensis): Unraveling Thermal and pH Effects

open access: yesFood Chemistry International, EarlyView.
Natural actomyosin from B. bengalensis exhibited maximum solubility (∼69.9%) at 40°C and stability near neutral pH, with minimum solubility at pH 4. Surface hydrophobicity and emulsifying activity peaked at 50°C, whereas Ca2+‐ATPase and foaming peaked at 40°C. DSC and SDS–PAGE confirmed denaturation above 40°C.

Effects of the addition of oil shale ash and coal ash on physic-chemical properties of CPJ45 cement

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2014
We focused our research on recycling industrial wastes, fly ash (F.A), bottom ash (B.A) and oil shale ash (S.A) in cement production. The study concerns physico-chemical characterization of these products and the influence of their addition on the ...

Application of Bottom Ash for Pavement Binder Course

open access: yesProcedia - Social and Behavioral Sciences, 2012
AbstractIn Europe, bottom ash (BA) is used in road construction as a fill material, mainly in embankments. The use of bottom ash as an aggregate in asphalt concretes is still in the early stages. The paper describes the results of tests performed at the Polytechnic of Bari on asphalt concretes containing BA coming from ENEL Spa plants in Brindisi ...

Strength and compressibility charactrisitcs of kaolin mixed with bottom ash [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Coal is one of the world’s most important sources of energy, fuelling almost 40% of electricity worldwide. The burning of coal produced coal ash that mostly consists of Fly Ash and Bottom Ash.
