Tolman wormholes violate the strong energy condition [PDF]
For an arbitrary Tolman wormhole, unconstrained by symmetry, we shall define the bounce in terms of a three-dimensional edgeless achronal spacelike hypersurface of minimal volume.

This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Numerical evolution of squeezed and non-Gaussian states in loop quantum cosmology
In recent years, numerical simulations with Gaussian initial states have demonstrated the existence of a quantum bounce in loop quantum cosmology in various models.

Duality and scale invariant magnetic fields from bouncing universes [PDF]
Recently, we had numerically shown that, for a non-minimal coupling that is a simple power of the scale factor, scale invariant magnetic fields arise in a class of bouncing universes.

Bone metastasis in prostate cancer (PCa) patients is a clinical hurdle due to the poor understanding of the supportive bone microenvironment. Here, we identify stearoyl‐CoA desaturase (SCD) as a tumor‐promoting enzyme and potential therapeutic target in bone metastatic PCa.

The contact of the main circuit breaker of EMUs will produce a great impact force in the closing process, which will cause bounce of the moving contact and lead to arc pulling between the contact, resulting in a large number of hot burns of contact ...

Bounce configuration from gradient flow
Based on the gradient flow, we propose a new method to determine the bounce configuration for false vacuum decay. Our method is applicable to a large class of models with multiple fields.

Periodic bounce orbits of prescribed energy
We prove the existence of periodic bounce orbits of prescribed energy on an open bounded domain in Euclidean space. We derive explicit bounds on the period and the number of bounce points.Comment: 18 pages, 3 figures; v2: improved main result, removed ...

We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Primordial bouncing cosmology in the Deser-Woodard nonlocal gravity
The Deser-Woodard (DW) nonlocal gravity model has been proposed in order to describe the late-time acceleration of the universe without introducing dark energy.
