Constrained approximate boundary controllability

IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 1997
The author gives necessary and sufficient conditions for constrained approximate boundary controllability for a class of linear systems described by partial differential equations of parabolic type with mixed boundary conditions. Some examples presented in detail illustrate the power of these criteria.

Boundary Control of Wave Equations with Delayed Boundary Measurement

2004 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Biomimetics, 2005
The Smith predictor and its variant are applied to boundary control of a wave equation with delayed boundary measurement. The well-known instability problem due to a small time delay is solved for wave equations. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method. The effect of the time delay size and the boundary feedback gain has

Backstepping boundary control: An application to rod temperature control with Neumann boundary condition

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part I: Journal of Systems and Control Engineering, 2014
This article presents a backstepping boundary control technique to stabilize the temperature of a rod. The rod is modeled by a parabolic partial differential equation with a Neumann boundary condition at one end of rod and a Dirichlet boundary condition at the other end.

Approximate Controllability of Boundary Control Systems with Nonlinear Boundary Conditions

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2014
The paper deals with the approximate controllability of a class of nonlinear delayed control systems in which the control is acted through the boundary of the region and the boundary conditions are nonlinear. The approximate controllability result is established provided the approximate controllability of the corresponding linear systems.

Stabilization of Boundary Control Systems

1979
Let Ω be an open subset of Rn with the boundary Γ =∂Ω. A typical boundary control system can be described by an equation of the form $$ \begin{array}{*{20}{c}} {\frac{{\partial z}}{{\partial t}}\left( {t,x} \right) = Lz\left( {t,x} \right) + Bu\left( {t,x} \right),\quad t > O,\;x \in \Omega } \\ {z\left( {O,x} \right) = {z_O}\left( x \right),\quad x

Optimal control of a stochastic delay heat equation with boundary-noise and boundary-control

International Journal of Control, 2014
In this paper, a controlled stochastic delay heat equation with Neumann boundary-noise and boundary-control is considered. The existence and uniqueness of the mild solution for the associated Hamilton–Jacobi–Bellman equations are obtained by means of the backward stochastic differential equations, which is applied to the optimal control problem.
