A comparison of domain integral evaluation techniques for boundary element methods
International Journal for Numerical Methods in Engineering, 2001AbstractIn many cases, boundary integral equations contain a domain integral. This can be evaluated by discretization of the domain into domain elements. Historically, this was seen as going against the spirit of boundary element methods, and several methods were developed to avoid this discretization, notably dual and multiple reciprocity methods and ...

A new method for transformation of domain integrals to boundary integrals in boundary element method
Communications in Numerical Methods in Engineering, 1998The paper develops a new technique for transferring 2D and 3D domain integrals in the boundary element method to the boundary. The method utilizes radial basis functions as in the dual reciprocity method (DRM) to approximate the body force term. However, unlike DRM particular solutions are not needed to transfer the domain integral to the boundary. The

The evaluation of domain integrals in the boundary element method
Communications in Applied Numerical Methods, 1990AbstractIn the application of the boundary element method (BEM) source terms give rise to domain integrals. To keep in the spirit of this method these integrals should be transformed into boundary integrals. Infortunately this is possible only in some circumstances.

A boundary‐domain integral equation method in viscous fluid flow
International Journal for Numerical Methods in Fluids, 2004AbstractIn this paper, the reciprocal work theorem for viscous fluid flow is established for Newtonian fluids and, based on this theorem, a set of boundary‐domain integral equations is derived from the continuity and momentum equations for two‐dimensional viscous flows.
