A universal boundary value problem for partial differential equations [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2013
A new boundary value problem for partial differential equations is discussed. We consider an arbitrary solution of an elliptic or parabolic equation in a given domain and no boundary conditions are assumed. We study which restrictions the boundary values of the solution and its normal derivatives must satisfy. Linear integral equations for the boundary

Using deep learning generated CBCT contours for online dose assessment of prostate SABR treatments

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Prostate Stereotactic Ablative Body Radiotherapy (SABR) is an ultra‐hypofractionated treatment where small setup errors can lead to higher doses to organs at risk (OARs). Although bowel and bladder preparation protocols reduce inter‐fraction variability, inconsistent patient adherence still results in OAR variability.

A Singularly Perturbed Boundary Value Problems with Fractional Powers of Elliptic Operators [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2016
A boundary value problem for a fractional power $0 < \varepsilon < 1$ of the second-order elliptic operator is considered. The boundary value problem is singularly perturbed when $\varepsilon \rightarrow 0$. It is solved numerically using a time-dependent problem for a pseudo-parabolic equation.

Accounting for TLD response to CBCT protocols in external beam radiotherapy dose monitoring

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose LiF thermoluminescent dosimeters (TLDs) are commonly used in radiation therapy to verify the delivered dose. Examples include dose verification for complicated treatment setups or cardiovascular implantable electronic devices (CIEDs). TLDs may be present for both the pre‐treatment imaging kilovoltage (kV) beam and the megavoltage (MV ...

A singular nonlinear boundary-value problem

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2000
In this paper we prove an existence and uniqueness theorem for the singular nonlinear boundary-value problem $$displaylines{ (|y'(t)|^py'(t))'+frac{phi}{y^{lambda}(t)}=0 hbox{ in } (0,1),cr y(0)=0=y(1), }$$ where $pgeq 0$, $lambda$ is a positive constant,

Early Language Impairment as an Integral Part of the Cognitive Phenotype in Huntington's Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Huntington's disease (HD) speech/language disorders have typically been attributed to motor and executive impairment due to striatal dysfunction. In‐depth study of linguistic skills and the role of extrastriatal structures in HD is scarce.

Regularity of the free boundary in a nonlocal one-dimensional parabolic free boundary value problem [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2012
We consider one-dimensional parabolic free boundary value problem with a nonlocal (integro-differential) condition on the free boundary. Results on $C^m$-regularity of the free boundary are obtained. In particular, a necessary and sufficient condition for infinite differentiability of the free boundary is given.

A selfadjoint hyperbolic boundary-value problem

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2003
We consider the eigenvalue wave equation $$u_{tt} - u_{ss} = lambda pu,$$ subject to $ u(s,0) = 0$, where $uinmathbb{R}$, is a function of $(s, t) in mathbb{R}^2$, with $tge 0$.

First-Order Boundary Value Problem with Nonlinear Boundary Condition on Time Scales

open access: yesDiscrete Dynamics in Nature and Society, 2011
This work is concerned with the following first-order dynamic equation on time scale ,  xΔ(t)+p(t)x(σ(t))=f(t,x(t)),  t∈[0,T]𝕋 with the nonlinear boundary condition x(0)=g(x(σ(T))).

Cerebello‐Prefrontal Connectivity Underlying Cognitive Dysfunction in Spinocerebellar Ataxia Type 2

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Spinocerebellar ataxia type 2 (SCA2) is a hereditary cerebellar degenerative disorder, with motor and cognitive symptoms. The constellation of cognitive symptoms due to cerebellar degeneration is named cerebellar cognitive affective syndrome (CCAS), which has increasingly been recognized to profoundly impact patients' quality of life;
