BOUNDED CONFIDENCE MODEL IN COMPLEX NETWORKS

International Journal of Modern Physics C, 2013
This paper presents a study of the bounded confidence model applied to the complex networks. Two different cases were examined: opinion formation process in the Barabási–Albert network and corruption spreading in a hierarchical network. For both cases, the value of the bounded confidence parameter ε was assumed as a constant, or its value was ...

A New Bounded Confidence Model Seeking Structural Balance

IEEE Control Systems Letters, 2019
In this letter, we propose a novel model of opinion dynamics which takes into account the notions of latitude of acceptance, latitude of noncommitment, and latitude of rejection from social judgment theory. We examine the asymptotic behavior of the proposed model. Moreover, introduction of latitude of rejection and as a result negative interactions may

Confidence Bounds on Reliability for the Inverse Gaussian Model

IEEE Transactions on Reliability, 1979
The inverse Gaussian distribution is considered as a lifetime model. First, the MLEs of the mean and shape parameters of the inverse Gaussian model are discussed, and s-confidence bounds for those parameters are given. Then the problem of obtaining s-confidence bounds for the reliability is considered for two cases: i) When the shape parameter is known

Bayesian confidence bounds for the Weibull failure model

Microelectronics Reliability, 1975
The following bounds are derived for the Weibull failure model when the parameter is being characterized by the inverted gamma and uniform probability density functions (pdf); they are lower and upper Bayes-confidence bounds for the scale parameter and lower bounds for the reliability function.

Separation time on bounded confidence opinion models

2013 25th Chinese Control and Decision Conference (CCDC), 2013
In this paper, we propose a new concept named separation time of the bounded confidence opinion models, the Hegselmann-Krause (HK) model and Deffuant-Weisbuch (DW) model. Different from others who care about the limit states of the opinion dynamics, we try to study the phenomenon among the opinion evolution process.

Bayesian Confidence Bounds For a Generalized Failure Model

Journal of Information and Optimization Sciences, 1984
Abstract Bayesian confidence bounds are derived for the generalized failure model when the parameter Θ behaves as a stochastic variable. Two prior distributions are considered the inverted gamma and a quasi prior distribution. Lower and upper Bayes-confidence bounds for the scale parameter and lower bounds for the reliability function are obtained.

Hierarchical confidence bounds for the exponential failure model

Microelectronics Reliability, 1993
Abstract Confidence bounds for the parameter and the reliability function are derived for the exponential failure model, from the hierarchical Bayesian view. The parameter of the exponential is considered as a random variable with a gamma function as a prior.

The Calculation and Use of Confidence Bounds in POD Models

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2007
At a qualitative level the calculation of a statistical confidence interval for a quantity X is an attempt to answer the question: “How variable could X have been and still be consistent with the data that have been observed?” Models used in POD estimation fit an entire curve to the data in hand.

Confidence Bounds for Statistical Model Checking of Probabilistic Hybrid Systems

2012
Model checking of technical systems is a common and demanding task. The behavior of such systems can often be characterized using hybrid automata, leading to verification problems within the first-order logic over the reals. The applicability of logic-based formalisms to a wider range of systems has recently been increased by introducing quantifiers ...
