On system operators with variation bounding properties

open access: yesAutomatica
The property of linear discrete-time time-invariant system operators mapping inputs with at most $k-1$ sign changes to outputs with at most $k-1$ sign changes is investigated. We show that this property is tractable via the notion of $k$-sign consistency in case of the observability/controllability operator, which as such can also be used as a ...

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

Somatic mutational landscape in von Hippel–Lindau familial hemangioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The causes of central nervous system (CNS) hemangioblastoma in Von Hippel–Lindau (vHL) disease are unclear. We used Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) on familial hemangioblastoma to investigate events that underlie tumor development. Our findings suggest that VHL loss creates a permissive environment for tumor formation, while additional alterations ...

Generalizations of Weighted Ostrowski Type Inequalities for Mappings of Bounded Variation and their Applications

open access: yes, 2006
In this paper, we establish some generalizations of weighted Ostrowski type Inequalities, and give several applications for r−moments, expectation of a continuous random variable and the Beta ...

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

Differences Between Means with Bounds from a Riemann-Stieltjes Integral

open access: yes, 2001
An identity for the difference between two integral means is obtained in terms of a Riemann-Stieltjes integral.

Generalizations of weighted trapezoidal inequality for mappings of bounded variation and their applications

open access: yes, 2004
In this paper, we establish some generalizations of weighted trapezoid inequality for mappings of bounded variation, and give several applications for r-moment, the expectation of a continuous random variable and the Beta mapping ...

On integral bounded variation [PDF]

open access: yesRevista de la Real Academia de Ciencias Exactas, Físicas y Naturales. Serie A. Matemáticas, 2017
The notion of \(q\)-integral \(p\)-variation, being an integral counterpart of Wiener's \(p\)-variation, has been introduced by \textit{A. P. Terehin} [Math. USSR, Sb. 17, 279--288 (1973; Zbl 0262.26011); translation from Mat. Sb., n. Ser. 88(130), 277--286 (1972)].

KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.
