Complete Weight Distributions and MacWilliams Identities for Asymmetric Quantum Codes

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
In 1997, Shor and Laflamme defined the weight enumerators for quantum error-correcting codes and derived a MacWilliams identity. We extend their work by introducing our double weight enumerators and complete weight enumerators for qubit codes and then ...

Organizing the interface—Plasma membrane architecture and receptor dynamics in virus‐cell interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

A Decoding Algorithm for LDPC Codes Over Erasure Channels with Sporadic Errors

open access: yes, 2010
An efficient decoding algorithm for low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes on erasure channels with sporadic errors (i.e., binary error-and-erasure channels with error probability much smaller than the erasure probability) is proposed and its performance ...

Rab14 regulates the transport of human papillomavirus to the trans‐Golgi network for infectious cell entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals that the small GTPase Rab14 is necessary for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and plays an essential role in the transport of virions to the trans‐Golgi network (TGN). HPV in the early endosome (EE), which harbors GTP‐bound Rab14, is transported to the TGN through the switch of Rab14 from its GTP‐bound to GDP‐bound form.

Pareto-Optimal Frozen Set Design for Polar Codes With Dynamic Frozen Bits Under Small-List SCL Decoding

open access: yesIEEE Access
This paper focuses on low-complexity design of polar codes with high error-correction capability for 6G networks. We propose a novel frozen set design approach for polar codes with dynamic frozen bits that guarantees the best possible trade-offs between ...

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

A parallel Viterbi decoder for block cyclic and convolution codes

open access: yes, 2005
We present a parallel version of Viterbi's decoding procedure, for which we are able to demonstrate that the resultant task graph has restricted complexity in that the number of communications to or from any processor cannot exceed 4 for BCH codes.

Nested turbo codes for the costa problem [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Driven by applications in data-hiding, MIMO broadcast channel coding, precoding for interference cancellation, and transmitter cooperation in wireless networks, Costa coding has lately become a very active research area.

M-PSK Cooperative Trellis Codes for Coordinate Interleaved Coded Cooperation

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Wireless Communications and Networking, 2009
M-PSK cooperative trellis codes are proposed for two-user coordinate interleaved coded cooperation operating over quasistatic Rayleigh fading channels.

Performance Analysis of Quantum CSS Error-Correcting Codes via MacWilliams Identities [PDF]

open access: yesQuantum
We analyze the performance of quantum stabilizer codes, one of the most important classes for practical implementations, on both symmetric and asymmetric quantum channels.
