Inactivation of bovine chymotrypsin by bovine antithrombin iii
Thrombosis Research, 1986Less than a stoichiometric amount of bovine chymotrypsin was progressively inactivated by a bovine AT III preparation. The rate of inactivation was not influenced by a synthetic substrate. Since chymotrypsin has low affinity for heparin, the polysaccharide only doubled the inactivation of the enzyme by the AT III preparation.

In approximately 20 years, bovine genomics has progressed from synteny mapping of protein gene products to a nearly completed 7.5x whole genome sequence. The cattle genome map serves as a prototype for genomic studies in other bovids such as goats, sheep, and river buffalo in which chromosome arms are totally conserved at the current level of ...

Bovine somatotropin has the potential to alter profoundly the way that dairy herds are managed and to change the ways in which veterinarians provide services to those herds. This article describes the structure, function, and action of somatotropin. The metabolic effects of somatotropin on dairy cattle are discussed.

Lymphosarcoma is the pathologic term that describes a fatal cancer of lymph glands or lymphoid tissue. Other terms that have been used to describe this condition in cattle are leukemia and leukosis. The designation of leukosis was given by European veterinarians who first recognized the disease in an area near the Baltic Sea in the latter part of the ...
