TISSUE EOSINOPHILIA IN LESIONS OF BOVINE DIGITAL DERMATITIS

Diagnosis, treatment, and control of bovine digital dermatitis in dairy cattle
This thesis focuses on the detection, prompt effective treatment, and control of digital dermatitis (DD) on dairy herds. In Chapter 2, an overview of the status quo on management of DD on dairy herds is given. In Chapter 3 we demonstrated that experienced scorers are well able to differentiate between photographs of feet affected by DD and photographs ...

Objectives: Previous studies have described the microbiome of the different lesion stages of Bovine Digital Dermatitis (BDD). The present study was designed to examine the healthy bovine foot-skin microbiome and determine differences in microbial populations associated with future development of BDD lesions.Materials and Methods: Swabs were taken from ...

Bovine Foot Rot and its Microbiological Relationship with Bovine Digital Dermatitis
Bovine foot rot (BFR) and bovine digital dermatitis (BDD) are important infectious diseases that cause pain and lameness in feedlot cattle. BFR causes subcutaneous tissue necrosis and is treated using systemic antibiotics whereas BDD affects outer skin layers and is treated using topical treatments, but cases often relapse.
