Bovine herpesvirus 5 BICP0 complements the bovine herpesvirus 1 homolog [PDF]

open access: yesVeterinary Microbiology, 2010
Bovine herpesvirus 1 (BoHV-1) and BoHV-5 are closely related (82% amino acid identity) but differ strongly in neuropathogenesis. The immediate-early gene for BICP0 is less conserved (70% amino acid identity) and may contribute to a dissimilar phenotype.

Genome of Bovine Herpesvirus 5 [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Virology, 2003
ABSTRACTHere we present the complete genomic sequence of bovine herpesvirus 5 (BHV-5), an alphaherpesvirus responsible for fatal meningoencephalitis in cattle. The 138,390-bp genome encodes 70 putative proteins and resembles the α2 subgroup of herpesviruses in genomic organization and gene content.

Sensitive detection systems for infectious agents in xenotransplantation*

open access: yesXenotransplantation, EarlyView., 2020
Abstract Xenotransplantation of pig cells, tissues, or organs may be associated with transmission of porcine microorganisms, first of all of viruses, to the transplant recipient, potentially inducing a disease (zoonosis). I would like to define detection systems as the complex of sample generation, sample preparation, sample origin, time of sampling ...
