Bovine Herpesvirus 2 Infections
1989Bovine herpesvirus 2 (BHV2) (1) is established as the specific cause of two distinct diseases of cattle. These are pseudo-lumpy skin disease (PLSD) which is caused by Allerton or related strains of BHV2 (2) and Bovine herpes mammillitis (BHM) which is caused by BMV or related strains of BHV2 (3).

Bovine monoclonal antibodies specific for bovine herpesvirus-1 glycoprotein gIII
American Journal of Veterinary Research, 1990SUMMARY Spleen cells from a calf immunized with bovine herpesvirus-1 (BHV-1) were fused with the nonsecreting murine cell line SP2/0. Several bovine-murine hybridomas secreting bovine immunoglobulins were stabilized. Of these, 9 hybridomas secreted bovine monoclonal antibodies that specifically bound to BHV-1 in a radioimmunoassay.

During 1992, on a farm in the Tokachi district of Hokkaido, Japan, approximately 20 Holstein-Friesian calves showed neuroparalysis and died within 7-10 days after routine vaccination. Six male calves, aged about 1.5 months, were submitted to our laboratory for pathological examination and diagnosed as acute or subacute necrotizing meningoencephalitis ...

INFECTION OF THE BOVINE UDDER WITH BOVINE HERPESVIRUS.
Canadian journal of comparative medicine and veterinary science, 1996Infectious bovine rhinotracheitis - infectious pustular vulvovaginitis (bovine herpesvirus) grown in tissue culture was used as inoculum in trials to infect the lactating bovine udder. Six experiments were undertaken in which one or more quarters were infused with 1 ml. of tissue culture fluids containing 10(6) to 10(7) tissue culture infectious doses (

Characteristics of live bovine herpesvirus-1 vaccines
The Veterinary Journal, 2005The common disease caused by bovine herpes virus 1 infection is febrile rhinotracheitis (FRT) and under certain conditions the virus is strongly implicated in pre-disposing cattle to pneumonic pasteurellosis. These illnesses account for a significant economic loss in the cattle industry worldwide and vaccination is widely applied.

Modified Bovine Herpesvirus 1 for Protein Secretion
2009The traditional way to utilize bovine herpesvirus 1 (BHV-1) and many other herpesviruses as vectors for synthesis of heterologous proteins like reporter proteins, antigens, or immunomodulatory active molecules was (and still is) the expression of the protein of interest from an entire gene consisting of promoter, 5'- and 3'-noncoding regions, the open ...
