Investigation of bovine leukemia virus transmission pathways within dairy herds through analysis of genomic and epidemiological data

open access: yesJournal of Dairy Science
: Bovine leukemia virus (BLV) is a highly prevalent retrovirus in US dairy cattle herds and has negatively affected dairy herds by reducing milk production, increasing culling rates, and contributing to economic losses. The objective of this study was to

A Multi‐Targeting Chimeric Antigen Receptor‐T Cell Platform to Overcome Antigen Heterogeneity in the Treatment of Non‐Small Cell Lung Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A dual‐transmembrane Bicephali CAR‐T platform simultaneously targets CD276 and NKG2D ligands to address antigen heterogeneity in non‐small cell lung cancer. By improving immune synapse formation, mitochondrial fitness, antioxidant capacity, and stem‐like persistence, this design enhances durable tumor control and provides a versatile strategy to ...

USP4‐Dependent CHAF1B Stabilization Regulates Distinct SETDB1 Ubiquitin States Linked to AKT T308 Signaling and Lipogenic Remodeling in HCC

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
USP4 stabilizes CHAF1B by limiting K48‐linked ubiquitination. Stabilized CHAF1B supports UHRF1‐associated K63‐linked SETDB1 ubiquitination and cytoplasmic redistribution, whereas CHAF1B loss favors VHL‐dependent K11‐associated degradative ubiquitination and proteasomal loss of SETDB1.

Leptin May Promote Eosinophilic CRSwNP Progression by Enhancing Eosinophil Chemotaxis and Angiogenesis Under a Type 2 Inflammatory Milieu

open access: yesInternational Forum of Allergy &Rhinology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyp (CRSwNP) is a heterogeneous Type 2 inflammatory disease characterized by enhanced eosinophilic infiltration. Both innate and adaptive immunity are involved in the onset and progression of CRSwNP.

Increased Plasma Microbial tDR‐1 in At‐Risk Individuals Is Associated With Decreased Conversion to Clinical Rheumatoid Arthritis and Reduces an In Vitro Macrophage Type 1 Interferon Response

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, EarlyView.
Objective Microbial small RNAs can regulate human genes. Higher plasma concentrations of microbial transfer RNA (tRNA)‐derived RNA‐1 (tDR‐1) were previously associated with lower rheumatoid arthritis (RA) disease activity. This study examined whether tDR‐1 concentrations differ in anticyclic citrullinated peptide‐3 positive (CCP3+) at‐risk individuals (

Extracellular vesicles derived from edible plants and edible fungi: Compositional characteristics, engineering strategies and biofunctions

open access: yesFood Biomacromolecules, EarlyView.
Non‐animal extracellular vesicles as bioactive‐compound carriers: compositional characteristics, engineering strategies, and biofunctions. Abstract Animal‐derived extracellular vesicles (EVs) were widely used for bioactive compound delivery but constrained by complex origins, potential immunogenicity, and pathogen contamination.

Cellular Toxicity of Short‐ and Long‐Term Exposures to Polystyrene Nanoplastics and Microplastics in Fish Skin Cell Derived From Fathead Minnow (Pimephales promelas)

open access: yesJournal of Applied Toxicology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The ubiquitous presence of microplastics and nanoplastics (MNPs) is raising concerns about their impact on the health of humans and other living organisms. Due to its tiny size, this particle can accumulate and circulate in the body after uptake, resulting in a variety of harmful outcomes on the organism, such as increased oxidative stress and

The Crude Venom of the Whitetail Lancehead, Bothrops leucurus, and Two of Its Enzymatic Components Are Selectively Cytotoxic for Glioma Cells In Vitro

open access: yesJournal of Applied Toxicology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Malignant glioma is the most common primary brain tumor, and glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) remains its most aggressive and incurable form. Snake venoms contain bioactive compounds with promising antitumoral properties against several cancer types.
