Detection of three polypeptides in preparations of bovine viral diarrhoea virus

open access: yesArchives of Virology, 1979
Radiolabelled bovine viral diarrhoea/mucosal disease virus (BVDV) strains NADL and Oregon C24V were purified by different steps. Following immunoprecipitation, electrophoresis in SDS-polyacrylamide gels revealed three BVDV structural polypeptides with molecular weights of 57 (VP1), 44 (VP2), and 34 (VP3) kd. The two larger BVDV polypeptides VP1 and VP2

Infection of pigs with bovine viral diarrhoea virus

Journal of Comparative Pathology, 1972
Abstract New-born, colostrum-deprived pigs were inoculated intranasally with the CL10 strain of bovine viral diarrhoea virus. Clinical signs of infection did not appear. Virus was recovered from the respiratory tract of all infected pigs killed within 3 weeks of inoculation, but recoveries from other tissues were more erratic.

Characterisation of bovine viral diarrhoea virus (BVDV) isolates from an outbreak with haemorrhagic enteritis and severe pneumonia

open access: yesVeterinary Microbiology, 2014
During 2007 a disease outbreak occurred in cattle in the Marmara region of western Turkey characterised by severe pneumonia and haemorrhagic enteritis in calves. Cases from three farms at different locations were examined and bovine viral diarrhoea virus
