PARAMETRIC SYSTEM IDENTIFICATION APPLIED TO THE BOW SHOCK WAVE SHAPE

open access: yes, 2013
In this paper it is addressed the prediction of form and location of detached shock waves ahead of two-dimensional and axially symmetric bodies at an zero angle of attack. As shown in Figs.

Investigation of oscillating airfoil shock phenomena

open access: yes, 1992
Fundamental experiments were performed in an unsteady flow water table facility to investigate and quantify the unsteady aerodynamics of a biconvex airfoil executing torsion mode oscillations at realistic reduced frequencies.

Unsteady Aerodynamics of Continuously Morphing Airfoils from Transonic to Hypersonic Regimes

open access: yesAerospace
Designing high-speed aircraft for wide-speed-range operation remains a major aerodynamic challenge. This study investigates the unsteady aerodynamics of a continuously morphing airfoil from transonic to hypersonic regimes. A smooth morphing trajectory is

Impact of a Near-Surface Plasma Region on the Bow Shock Wave and Aerodynamic Characteristics of a High-Speed Model in Xenon

open access: yesFluids
The main objective of the present study is to demonstrate the possibility of actively influencing the position of the bow shock wave and the main parameters of supersonic flow over a blunt body by organizing a gas discharge near the front surface, in the region between the body and the bow shock wave. The research is carried out using both experimental

The aerodynamics of a baseline supersonic throughflow fan rotor

open access: yes, 1993
A baseline supersonic throughflow fan has been designed and tested at the NASA Lewis Research Center in order to demonstrate proof-of-concept and provide an experimental data base for this unique type of turbomachine. The aerodynamics of the rotor, which

Hypersonic flow past a spherically blunted nose cone: a computational study

open access: yes, 2020
The present study investigates the aerodynamic characteristics of spherically blunted nose cone at a hypersonic Mach number of 5.8, numerically. The studies are conducted for different combinations of bluntness ratios and semi-cone angles, at zero angle ...

Targeting the PDK1/c‐Myc/SOX10 Signaling in Oligodendrocytes Alleviates Neuropathic Pain

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work reveals that oligodendrocyte homeostasis, mediated by PDK1, is a critical determinant of neuropathic pain (NPP) pathogenesis. Disruption of PDK1 in oligodendrocytes impairs SOX10‐dependent myelination programs through c‐Myc accumulation, leading to disrupted myelination and the pathophysiology of NPP.

HNRNPD Induces Radioresistance in Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma by Sequestering GRAMD4 mRNA in Stress Granules

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
HNRNPD promotes radioresistance in nasopharyngeal carcinoma by enhancing stress granule assembly and sequestering GRAMD4 mRNA. This suppresses GRAMD4 translation and inhibits mitochondrial apoptosis. Targeting the integrated stress response with ISRIB restores GRAMD4 expression and sensitizes tumors to radiotherapy, revealing a translational control ...
