Comparison of gliding box and box-counting methods in river network analysis [PDF]
We use multifractal analysis to estimate the Rényi dimensions of river basins by two different partition methods. These methods differ in the way that the Euclidian plane support of the measure is covered, partitioning it by using mutually exclusive ...

ABSTRACT Background An earlier study on children diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) in Kenya reported a low event‐free survival (EFS), excess treatment abandonment, and high induction mortality.

ABSTRACT Background Japan has one of the highest dialysis prevalence rates worldwide and a shrinking, aging population. Whether dialysis burden has entered a sustained post‐peak phase or whether recent declines partly reflect pandemic‐related disruptions remains uncertain.

Box Detection and Counting Using Improved YOLOv7
With the rapid development of intelligent warehouse management, accurate detection and counting of boxes has become particularly important. However, factors such as lighting and occlusion in complex backgrounds have a negative impact on box detection ...

Fractal Features of Urban Fabrics and Urban Landscapes in Algiers, Tokyo and New York
This research aims to explore the fractal features within three districts: Beb-el-Oued (Algiers), Chiyoda-ku (Tokyo), and lower Manhattan (New York). It is based on the study of (A) the evolution of the morphological identity of urban fabrics, and (B ...

Box-counting dimensions of generalised fractal nests [PDF]
Fractal nests are sets defined as unions of unit $n$-spheres scaled by a sequence of $k^{-α}$ for some $α>0$. In this article we generalise the concept to subsets of such spheres and find the formulas for their box counting dimensions. We introduce some novel classes of parameterised fractal nests and apply these results to compute the dimensions ...

Combining Fractals and Box-Counting Dimension
In this paper, the box-counting dimension is used to derive an explicit formula for the dimension of a fractal constructed using several contractions or by combining fractals. This dimension agrees with the Hausdorff dimension in the particular case when the scales factors considered are all the same.
