Compression capacity of closely spaced double‐angle beam‐columns – Impact of joint stiffness
Abstract Usually, pinned ends are assumed to calculate the compression capacity of closely spaced double‐angle members. In reality, the joints used in practice provide additional rotational restraint at the member's ends, which significantly influence the compression member capacity of such built‐up sections.

Genetic Analysis and Repair of Cracks in Prestressed Concrete Box Girders during Precast Period
During the initial period of precast prestressed concrete box girders in a bridge, some cracks appeared in five box girders. The paper describes the crack states including location, elongation, space, width and depth.

Recent Progress in Mechanoluminescence for Multi‐Dimensional Stress Monitoring
Multi‐dimensional stress visualization technology (0D point detection, 1D linear distribution, 2D planar imaging, 3D volume reconstruction) has become a focus of attention in the field of stress sensing. The transition from “points” to “multi‐dimensional spatial fields” facilitates real‐time, in situ, and high‐resolution visualization of stress ...

Optimum design of composite prestressed concrete girder railway bridges
This paper deals with the formulation of design optimisation of pretsressed concrete bridges. The bridge is of a slab-on-girder type, hence modeled as an equivalent orthotropic plate.

Curved composite box girder bridges with corrugated steel webs (CSWs) have already been constructed around the world. However, limited work has been done on the comparisons of mechanical properties between curved box girders (CBGs) with CSWs and CBGs ...

Cr‐alloyed quenched and tempered prestressing steel wires were found to be as highly susceptible as non‐Cr‐alloyed ones. This finding is in contrast to the known literature. A newly developed and reproducible method for assessing susceptibility to hydrogen‐induced stress corrosion cracking was used.
