Ultimate strength assessment of corroded box girders

Ocean Engineering, 2013
This work deals with the evaluation of the ultimate bending moment of two box girders subjected to different levels of corrosion degradation and experimentally tested under pure vertical bending moment. A series of nonlinear finite element analysis have been conducted.

Stacking Strength of Corrugated Boxes

"ENGINEERING, SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY IN THE MIDST OF GLOBAL PANDEMIC", 2022
The stacking strength of corrugated boxes is a critical component of distribution packaging since corrugated boxes are widely used as shipping containers. This article summarizes factors affecting the box stacking strength. Supporting data from various pieces of work performed at Christian Brothers University as class projects are provided.

Strength of welded jumbo box columns

Journal of the Chinese Institute of Engineers, 1992
Abstract The ultimate strength of hot‐rolled wide flange steel columns has been studied extensively. However, very limited research work has been carried out on welded box columns, especially the jumbo type. This study focuses on the ultimate strength of welded jumbo box columns which are fabricated from four steel plates.

Strength of slender concrete filled high strength steel box columns

Journal of Constructional Steel Research, 2004
The use of thin walled steel sections coupled with concrete infill has been used on various building projects with great advantage. The currently available international standards for composite structures are limited to the design of concrete filled steel columns with compact sections. However, there is limited research work in the literature available

Ultimate Strength of Concrete Box Girder Bridge

Journal of the Structural Division, 1974
Results obtained in a study of a large-scale, two-span, four-cell reinforced concrete box girder model are presented. The model, which was a 1:2.82 scale replica of a prototype, had overall plan dimensions of 72 ft (21.14 m) long by 12 ft (3.66 m) wide.

My Strength: A Look Outside the Box at the Strengths Perspective

Social Work, 2006
When I was in the second grade, my teacher asked us to do a book report: just a plain old book report where you stand in front of the class and you regurgitate the story line of a book that you recently read. As was my style, however, reading nervously from behind a piece of wide-ruled notebook paper just wasn't my schtick.

Box Compression Strength: A Crippling Approach

Packaging Technology and Science, 2015
A crippling analysis method has been utilized to estimate the compression strength paperboard boxes. Crippling analysis is typically utilized in the aerospace industry to predict the compressive failure strength of thin, slender structures with complex cross‐sectional geometry.

Strength Training Practices in Amateur and Professional Boxing

Journal of Strength & Conditioning Research
Abstract Beattie, K and Ruddock, AD. Strength training practices in amateur and professional boxing. J Strength Cond Res 39(6): 672–679, 2025—Previous research has highlighted that force development are key contributors to punch impact force in boxing; however, the strength training practices within the sport remain unclear.

Strength and Deformation of Pretensioned Box Girders

Journal of the Structural Division, 1981
An analytical computer model is developed to analyze prestressed concrete box girders subjected to torque, bending moment, and shear. Its performance is evaluated in comparison with results of experimentation and current theory. Emphasis is placed on the prediction of post-cracking member deformations in addition to ultimate member strength.

SBoxScope: A Meta S-box Strength Evaluation Framework for Heterogeneous Confusion Boxes

2016 49th Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences (HICSS), 2016
In cipher algorithms -- both block or streaming -- the most important non-linear component is a confusion box (commonly termed as s Substitution box or an S-box). The designers of cipher algorithms create an S-box on the basis of a unique formal model, as a result, its parameters -- including its size -- are different.
