Environmental modulators of vascular physiology and inflammation

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, Volume 111, Issue 2, Page 321-334, 1 February 2026.
Abstract Environmental factors play a crucial role in modulating vascular inflammation, contributing significantly to the development of atherosclerosis and cardiovascular disease. This review synthesizes current evidence on how various environmental exposures influence vascular function and inflammation, with a focus on pollutants such as particulate ...

Effects of soluble guanylyl cyclase stimulation on muscle oxygenation and exercise capacity in heart failure with mildly reduced ejection fraction

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, Volume 111, Issue 2, Page 474-488, 1 February 2026.
Abstract Heart failure (HF) with a mildly reduced ejection fraction (HFmrEF; 40%–49%) is present in ≤25% of HF patients. Therapeutic treatment options for HFmrEF‐associated exercise intolerance are limited. Nitric oxide (NO)‐independent stimulation of soluble guanylyl cyclase to improve peripheral vasodilatation offers a novel approach to enhance ...

Design and Synthesis of Boron‐Containing Noncanonical Amino Acids With Enhanced Stability and Solubility

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, Volume 29, Issue 3, January 22, 2026.
We report a new class of boron‐containing noncanonical amino acids with improved aqueous solubility and stability. Structural tuning around the boron center enhances biological compatibility, and unique fluorescence properties suggest applications in protein engineering and biosensing, advancing boron‐based tools for chemical biology and drug discovery.

Impact of Limonene Dioxide Incorporation Into DGEBA Epoxy Resins: Effect on Thermal, Rheological, Mechanical, and Dynamic Mechanical Properties

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, Volume 143, Issue 4, January 20, 2026.
Scheme illustrating the evolution of mechanical, thermal, and rheological properties from the 100% LDO sample to the 100% DGEBA resin sample across six studied compositions with varying LDO:DGEBA ratios. ABSTRACT This study investigates the incorporation of limonene dioxide (LDO), a bio‐based epoxide, into bisphenol A diglycidyl ether (DGEBA) epoxy ...
