A Comparative Study of the Effects of Al(OH)3 and AlPO4 Adjuvants on the Production of Neutralizing Antibodies (NAbs) against Bovine parainfluenza Virus Type 3 (BPIV3) in Guinea Pigs. [PDF]
Aluminum-containing adjuvants are extensively used for inactive human and animal vaccines owing to their favorable immunostimulative and safe properties. Nonetheless, there is controversy over the effects of different aluminum salts as an adjuvant for the bovine parainfluenza virus type 3 (BPIV3) vaccine.

Bovine parainfluenza virus 3 (BPIV3) is one of several viruses that contribute to bovine respiratory disease complex (BRDC). During this study, isolation of BPIV3 was attempted from 20 PCR-positive swabs by Madin-Darby Bovine Kidney (MDBK) cells.

Our study was the first attempt to compare antibodies prevalence for two genotypes (A and C) of bovine respirovirus 3 in small and large domestic ruminants that were proved to be exposed more commonly to BPIV‐3c than BPIV‐3a, which may indicate that A may not be the dominant genotype of BPIV‐3.

One of the major viral pathogens of respiratory system disease complex in cattle, BPIV 3 is a viral agent generally appearing during autumn and winter months in Northern Hemisphere and causing upper respiratory tract infections. Even though the isolates of this virus are in close antigenic relations, it is classified within three different genotypes as

Abstract Parainfluenza virus is one of the viral agents causing crucial respiratory system diseases in cattle. In this study, we aimed to determine the role and genotype of BPIV3 in circulation in respiratory system diseases in cattle. For this purpose, analyses by molecular and virological ways were applied on the samples taken.
