E3value to BPMN Model Transformation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Business value and coordination process perspectives need to be taken into consideration while modeling business collaborations. The need for these two models stems from the importance of separating the how from the what concerns. A business value model shows what is offered by whom to whom while a coordination process model shows how these offerings ...

Declarative Process Modeling in BPMN [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Traditional business process modeling notations, including the standard Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN), rely on an imperative paradigm wherein the process model captures all allowed activity flows. In other words, every flow that is not specified is implicitly disallowed.

Developing a Framework for the Quality‐Driven Migration to Microservices: A Multi‐Method Design Science Study

open access: yesSoftware: Practice and Experience, Volume 56, Issue 6, Page 658-686, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Context The microservices architectural style has revolutionized the way modern software systems are developed and operated. While the development of new microservices systems can leverage a wide range of resources and proven strategies, the migration of an existing monolithic system is not easily generalizable.

High-Level Process Modeling—An Experimental Investigation of the Cognitive Effectiveness of Process Landscape Diagrams

open access: yesMathematics
Unlike business process diagrams, where ISO/IEC 19510 (BPMN 2.0) prevails, high-level process landscape diagrams are being designed using a variety of standard- or semi-standard-based notations. Consequently, landscape diagrams differ among organizations,

Lost in Transcription: Frequency of Inaccurate Manually Documented Point‐of‐Care Blood Glucose and Ketone Measures in Hospital

open access: yesEndocrinology, Diabetes &Metabolism, Volume 9, Issue 3, May 2026.
Manual transcription of point‐of‐care blood glucose and ketone results into hospital charts was frequently inaccurate compared with automated networked glucose monitoring records. In a two‐month audit of 250 admissions, missing and incorrect entries were common, with many discrepancies clinically significant.
