Nerve Conduction Abnormalities Beyond Conduction Block in Multifocal Motor Neuropathy. Impact on Diagnostic Criteria Accuracy

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Neurology, Volume 32, Issue 9, September 2025.
This multicenter study shows that nerve conduction abnormalities beyond conduction block occur frequently in multifocal motor neuropathy (MMN). These abnormalities are more prevalent than in axonal polyneuropathies or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and involve nerves unaffected by conduction block.

Patient positioning on the operating table and patient safety: A systematic review and meta‐analysis

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Nursing, Volume 81, Issue 9, Page 5585-5602, September 2025.
Abstract Aim To identify occurrence of harmful incidents related to patient positioning on operating table. Design Systematic review and meta‐analysis. Data Sources Eight databases including Ovid, Medline, Embase, CINAHL, the Cochrane Library, Epistemonikos, Scopus, Web of Science and Google Scholar were systematically searched from the inception of ...

Ofatumumab for the Treatment of Anti‐Neurofascin 155 Autoimmune Nodopathy: A Case Series [PDF]

open access: yesBrain Behav
Summarize the key messages of this paper Ofatumumab treatment led to significant clinical, imaging, and electrophysiological improvements in four patients with anti‐NF155 AN.1. No adverse reactions to ofatumumab were observed in any of the patients. Ofatumumab has great potential for treating anti‐NF155 AN.3. ABSTRACT Introduction Autoimmune nodopathy (

Nationwide Phenotypic and Genotypic Characterisation of 103 Patients With SH3TC2 Gene‐Related Demyelinating Peripheral Neuropathy

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Neurology, Volume 32, Issue 8, August 2025.
We analysed the clinical, electrophysiological, and genetic features of 103 patients from 89 families with SH3TC2 gene mutations identified in 27 French University Hospitals causing Charcot–Marie‐Tooth type 4C (CMT4C) demyelinating peripheral neuropathy.

Exploring Ultrasonographic Atypical Aspects in Drug‐Resistant Multifocal Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 15, Issue 7, July 2025.
This study highlights the potential of ultra‐high frequency ultrasound (28–33 MHz) to detect internal structural changes in enlarged nerves in multifocal CIDP. In three patients, altered echogenicity and fascicular architecture were associated with severe electrophysiological findings and guided treatment escalation.

Brachial plexus neuropathy after radiotherapy for breast cancer [PDF]

open access: yesBMJ, 1995
Lower doses and surgical management of the axilla may be the answer It is tragic when patients are permanently harmed by a complication of treatment. One such complication, which has recently received publicity, is brachial plexus neuropathy after radiotherapy for early breast cancer.1 A group of women who perceived themselves damaged in this way ...

Investigating the Mechanism of Conditioning Versus Postoperative Electrical Stimulation to Enhance Nerve Regeneration: One Therapy, Two Distinct Effects

open access: yesMuscle &Nerve, Volume 72, Issue 1, Page 15-33, July 2025.
ABSTRACT Regeneration after peripheral nerve injury is often insufficient for functional recovery. Postoperative electrical stimulation (PES) following injury and repair significantly improves clinical outcomes; recently, conditioning electrical stimulation (CES), delivered before nerve injury, has been introduced as a candidate for clinical ...

The effect of swimmer position during prone ventilation on the onset of brachial plexus injury in the intensive care unit: A multiprofessional clinical study protocol

open access: yesNursing in Critical Care, Volume 30, Issue 4, July 2025.
Abstract Background Prone positioning improves oxygenation in adults with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) and has been extensively applied in intensive care units (ICU) during the COVID‐19 pandemic. Although some complications due to the manoeuvre are well known, brachial plexus injury after prone positioning is reported as a rare ...

Differential expression of the capsaicin receptor TRPV1 and related novel receptors TRPV3, TRPV4 and TRPM8 in normal human tissues and changes in traumatic and diabetic neuropathy

open access: yesBMC Neurology, 2007
Background Transient receptor potential (TRP) receptors expressed by primary sensory neurons mediate thermosensitivity, and may play a role in sensory pathophysiology.
