Complete mitochondrial genome of the freshwater monogonont rotifer Brachionus angularis (Rotifera, Brachionidae) [PDF]

open access: diamondMitochondrial DNA. Part B. Resources, 2020
The two complete mitochondrial genomes were sequenced from the freshwater monogonont rotifer Brachionus angularis. The mitochondrial genome sequences were 10,764 bp (mitochondrial DNA I) and 12,238 bp (mitochondrial DNA II) in size, respectively.

Taxonomic, functional and interspecific response of zooplankton to management practices in carp ponds [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports
Ecological management practices in fishponds are evolving rapidly, and zooplankton communities provide a reliable indicator of these effects. Over an eight-month period, in nine experimental ponds in the Czech Republic, we assessed the taxonomic ...

Population density, sexual reproduction and diapause in monogonont rotifers: new data for Brachionus and a review

open access: goldJournal of Limnology, 2004
Diapausing, fertilized eggs in monogonont rotifers typically are formed after an environmental signal induces amictic females to produce mictic daughters.

Effect of three food types on the population growth of Brachionus calyciflorus and Brachionus patulus (Rotifera: Brachionidae)

open access: yesRevista de Biología Tropical, 2001
We compared the population growth of B. calyciflorus and B. patulus using the green alga Chlorella vulgaris, baker’s yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae or their mixture in equal proportions as food. Food was offered once every 24 h in two concentrations (low:
