Enrichment of rotifer Brachionus rotundiformis with calcium

open access: yes, 2007
Possibility of enrichment of rotifer (Brachionus rotondiformis) with calcium (Ca) for feeding the fish fry was investigated. Rotifer was kept for 24 h with aeration in normal seawater (Treatment 1), seawater with 400 mg/l supplemental Ca from Ca-lactate (Treatment 2) and seawater with 400 mg/l supplemental Ca from Ca-chloride (Treatment 3).

Značenje rotatorija Brachionus plicatilis Muller za akvakulturu

open access: yesCroatian Journal of Fisheries : Ribarstvo, 1994
Presented is the significance of rotatoria (Brachionus plicatilis M) in the larval food and post larval sea fish. In the beginning the rotatoria were collected from the lake where cels were cultured. Due to the encouraging starting results of surviving larval of sea fish and crab fish the rotatoria became an wireplaceable feeding component in the first

About the relationship between the zooplankton and fluctuating water levels of Lago Camaleão, a Central Amazonian várzea lake

open access: yes, 1984
A two-year study of the composition and abundance of the zooplankton was conducted in an Amazonian vãrzea lake, Lago Camaleão. Rotifers were dominant in terms of both species numbers and density.

Morphology and ultrastructure of the freshwater rotifer Brachionus bidentatus (Monogononta: Brachionidae) using scanning and transmission electron microscopy

open access: yesRevista de Biología Tropical, 2013
The study of sexual reproductive behavior supported by ultrastructural evidence is important in rotifers to describe differences among potential cryptic species.

Short communication: Culture of Chlorella ellipsoidea in different inexpensive medium and used as food for production of rotifer, Brachionus calyciflorus [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Rotifers are multicellular animals with body cavities that are partially lined by mesoderm. These organisms are valuable live food for larval fish and crustacean culture. Several characteristics of rotifers, including their nutritional quality, body size
