Recent Advances in Kaolinite Nanoclay as Drug Carrier for Bioapplications: A Review

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 10, Issue 25, September 5, 2023., 2023
This review summarizes the recent progress of Kaol nanoclay for therapeutic delivery. Their naturally layered structure, abundant surface charge as well as strong biocompatibility, make Kaol a superior 2D nanocarrier. By summarizing the modification strategies and addressing the bio‐safety concerns, Kaol‐based nanocarriers were applied for ...

Connections of the corpus cerebelli in the green sunfish and the common goldfish [PDF]

open access: yes, 1988
Examination of the connections of the corpus cerebelli in one perciform (Lepomis cyanellus) and one cypriniform teleost (Carassius auratus) reveal that ipsilateral afferent connections in both species arise from an anterior group of nuclei in the ...

Distribution of the transcription factor islet‐1 in the central nervous system of nonteleost actinopterygian fish: Relationship with cholinergic and catecholaminergic systems

open access: yesJournal of Comparative Neurology, Volume 531, Issue 11, Page 1126-1146, August 2023., 2023
Abstract Islet‐1 (Isl1) is one of the most conserved transcription factors in the evolution of vertebrates, due to its continuing involvement in such important functions as the differentiation of motoneurons, among other essential roles in cell fate in the forebrain.

Effect of Different Protocols of Fixed‐Time Artificial Insemination on Mucus, Ovarian Size, and Pregnancy of Mixed‐Breed Cows in the Humid Tropics of Peru

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine International, Volume 2023, Issue 1, 2023., 2023
The objective of the research was to evaluate three synchronization protocols for fixed‐time artificial insemination (FTAI) in Bos indicus with Bos taurus crossbred cows. Forty‐five cows of 5 ± 1.6 years were selected. The Jsynch treatment consisted of the application of an intravaginal device plus benzoate; on day 8, the device was removed and PGF2α ...

Nutritional quality evaluation and proteome profile of forage species of Western Himalaya

open access: yesGrassland Science, Volume 68, Issue 3, Page 214-225, July 2022., 2022
Abstract Naturally occurring forage species in the high‐altitude pasturelands of Western Himalaya are traditionally being utilized for feeding of livestock. However, the nutritional quality evaluation and validation of their potential as feed for livestock needs to be undertaken. Here, we evaluated proximate compositions, minerals and amino acids (AAs)

The Visually Related Posterior Pretectal Nucleus in the Non-Percomorph Teleost Osteoglossum bicirrhosum Projects to the Hypothalamus [PDF]

open access: yes, 1991
This study was done to elucidate the ancestral (plesiomorphic) condition for visual pathways to the hypothalamus in teleost fishes. Three patterns of pretectal organization can be discerned morphologically and histochemically in teleosts. Their taxonomic
