Analysis of the inadequacy of determining the spectral characteristics of optical fibre periodic structures by way of numerical modelling

open access: yesMetrology and Measurement Systems, 2020
As part of the work, the error level of simulations of uniform optical-fibre Bragg gratings was determined using the transitionmatrixmethod. The errorswere established by comparing the transmission characteristics of the structures obtained by simulation

High-precision point-by-point fiber Bragg grating inscription

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2021
The paper presents a novel multi-pass point-by-point method for high-precision inscription of fiber Bragg gratings with a femtosecond laser radiation. The dynamics of the gratings formation is demonstrated in comparison with the classical method of UV ...

Modelling of Photonic Wire Bragg Gratings [PDF]

open access: yesOptical and Quantum Electronics, 2006
Some important properties of photonic wire Bragg grating structures have been investigate. The design, obtained as a generalisation of the full-width gap grating, has been modelled using 3D finite-difference time-domain simulations. Different types of stop-band have been observed.

Rapidly reconfigurable optical phase encoder-decoders based on fiber Bragg gratings [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We demonstrate the capacity for fast dynamic reconfiguration of optical code-division multiple access (OCDMA) phase en/decoders based on fiber Bragg gratings and a thermal phase-tuning technique.

Hyperspectral study of the coupling between trions in WSe$_2$ monolayers to a circular Bragg grating cavity

open access: yesComptes Rendus. Physique, 2021
Circular Bragg gratings compose a very appealing photonic platform and nanophotonic interface for the controlled light-matter coupling of emitters in nanomaterials.

Silicon graphene Bragg gratings

open access: yesOptics Express, 2014
We propose the use of interleaved graphene sections on top of a silicon waveguide to implement tunable Bragg gratings. The filter central wavelength and bandwidth can be controlled changing the chemical potential of the graphene sections. Apodization techniques are also presented.

Effects of random phase and amplitude errors in optical fiber Bragg gratings [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
This paper studies the influence of random phase and amplitude fabrication errors on the performance of optical filters based on fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs).

Graphene Bragg gratings on microfiber

open access: yesOptics Express, 2014
Graphene Bragg gratings (GBGs) on microfiber are proposed and investigated in this paper. Numerical analysis and simulated results show that the mode distribution, transmission loss, and central wavelength of the GBG are controllable by changing the diameter of the microfiber or the refractive index of graphene.

A transverse loading technique to enhance the pressure measurement capability of fibre Bragg gratings [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
A fibre optic pressure sensor based on the application of a transverse load onto an epoxy-resin material embedded over a sub-section of a fibre Bragg grating (FBG) is presented.

Nonreciprocal waveguide Bragg gratings

open access: yesOptics Express, 2005
The use of a complex short-period (Bragg) grating which combines matched periodic modulations of refractive index and loss/gain allows asymmetrical mode coupling within a contra-directional waveguide coupler. Such a complex Bragg grating exhibits a different behavior (e.g.
