Role of Radiation Therapy in the Control of Malignant Neoplasms of the Brain and Brain Stem

open access: closedRadiology, 1950
Malignant tumours of the brain and brain stem compel an attitude of critical optimism on the part of the neurosurgeon and the radiation therapist in their approach to the problems both of the attack upon the individual tumour and the assessment of the results in the several types of neoplasm.

The plated bayonet: a new instrument to facilitate surgery for intra-axial neoplasms of the spinal cord and brain stem

open access: closedJournal of Neurosurgery, 1993
✓ A new instrument for use in surgically treating intra-axial neoplasms of the spinal cord and brain stem is described. The plated bayonet allows neoplastic tissue in the spinal cord to be separated from functioning neural elements without perforating the adjacent spinal cord.

Roentgen Therapy of Primary Neoplasms of the Brain and Brain Stem

open access: closedRadiology, 1945
During the four-year period from Jan. 1, 1939, to Dec. 31, .1943, there were subjected to roentgen irradiation 91 patients with known primary malignant neoplasms of the central nervous system (Table I), as well as an appreciable number of others with neoplasms involving the brain, brain stem, and spinal cord, notably metastases from primary carcinomas ...

[Neoplasms of the brain stem: clinico-pathologic correlations].

open access: closedRivista di neurologia, 1984
We report here the clinico-pathological data about 4 patients with brainstem tumors. Clinical symptoms were variable but allowed a correct topical diagnosis. On the other hand, all the neuroradiological examinations, especially CT scan of the brain, resulted always negative or without diagnostic value.
