Intelligent Maintenance Review for Robots: Multimodal Information, Deep Diagnosis and Embodied Artificial Intelligence

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This review maps the methods to monitor robots’ health by fusing vibration, sound, control signals, vision, force, and oil information with artificial intelligence. It identifies deep learning, transfer learning, digital twins, and physics‐informed models as key methodological pathways enabling earlier diagnosis, safer human–robot collaboration, and ...

Optimization of Magnetic Milli‐Spinner for Robotic Endovascular Intervention

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This work presents the design optimization of a multifunctional magnetic milli‐spinner for high‐speed propulsion and efficient clot debulking. The optimized design achieves an ultrafast swimming velocity of 55 cm/s (≈175 body lengths/s) in saline water, enabling stable upstream swimming against strong physiological flows and establishing magnetic milli‐

Malectin Alleviates Endoplasmic Reticulum Stress in Gestational Diabetes Mellitus via Glycoprotein Quality Control Mechanisms

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Malectin alleviates high glucose‐induced ER stress and damage in placental trophoblasts, a function dependent on its six critical carbohydrate‐binding residues. In a GDM mouse model, administration of TAT‐Malectin ameliorated hyperglycemia and placental ER stress and prevented fetal macrosomia.

A 3D In Vitro Model of the Human Hepatobiliary Junction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A 3D human organoid platform reconstructs the hepatobiliary junction between primary adult hepatocytes and intrahepatic cholangiocytes. These adult hepatobiliary organoids (aHBOs) support directional bile transport from canaliculi to ductule‐like structures, enable quantitative imaging of junction dynamics, and reveal cell‐type‐specific vulnerabilities

Cutting Planes from the Branch-and-Bound Tree: Challenges and Opportunities

INFORMS journal on computing, 2022
In this short paper, we argue that the standard approach adopted by modern mixed-integer linear programming solvers of using very little cutting plane generation in the branch-and-bound tree can be too conservative and lead to the loss of significant ...

A best-fit branch-and-bound heuristic for the unconstrained two-dimensional non-guillotine cutting problem

European Journal of Operational Research, 2018
This paper studies the unconstrained two-dimensional non-guillotine cutting problem, in which the objective is to select and pack a set of rectangles into a sheet with fixed sizes and maximize the profit of the selected rectangles. The orientation of the
