Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

The coexistence of manufacturer brands and retailer brands in FMCG product categories

open access: yes, 2010
The thesis investigates the coexistence of manufacturer brands and retailer brands in FMCG (fast moving consumer goods) product categories in the radically-shaped grocery retail landscape characterised by high retail consolidation and concentration, as ...

Occurrence of Lotmaria Passim in Africanized and European Honey Bee, Apis Mellifera, Lineages from the United States

open access: yesJournal of Apicultural Science
Honey bee populations in the United States have been under stress for the past several decades. Several internal parasites may contribute to this, including the trypanosome Lotmaria passim. It is unknown how widespread the honey bee parasite, L.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Organizing the interface—Plasma membrane architecture and receptor dynamics in virus‐cell interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

The Influence of Brand Trust, Brand Identification, Brand Involvement, and Brand Commitment on Brand Evangelism

open access: yesJurnal Ilmiah Manajemen Kesatuan
This study aims to identify factors that influence brand evangelism at Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI). This study uses a quantitative model with independent variables consisting of brand trust, brand identification, brand involvement, and brand commitment, and the dependent variable is brand evangelism.

Residual tail twisting in ascidian larvae is stabilized by asymmetric myofibrils that resist bilateral symmetry restoration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...

Unmanageable Tourism Destination Brands?

open access: yes
Increasingly researchers and practitioners adopt branding to build and manage tourism destination images. However, we have yet to ask the question: Is it pos-sible to build and/or manage destination brands? This crucial question is ad-dressed by means of:
