Balanced B and D-type orthosymplectic quivers — magnetic quivers for product theories

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2022
We investigate orthosymplectic quivers that take the shape of D-type and B-type Dynkin diagrams. The D-type orthosymplectic quivers explored here contain a balanced “fork”, i.e.

Matrix String Theory from Brane Configuration

open access: yes, 1997
Configurations of fivebranes, twobranes and fourbranes in type IIA string theory, which give (1+1) dimensional supersymmetric gauge theories in the low energy limit, are constructed. It is shown that these brane configurations are equivalent to a certain

High energy QCD scattering, the shape of gravity on an IR brane, and the Froissart bound [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
High-energy scattering in non-conformal gauge theories is investigated using the AdS/CFT dual string/gravity theory. It is argued that strong-gravity processes, such as black hole formation, play an important role in the dual dynamics.

Calabi-Yau products: graded quivers for general toric Calabi-Yaus

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2021
The open string sector of the topological B-model on CY (m + 2)-folds is described by m-graded quivers with superpotentials. This correspondence generalizes the connection between CY (m + 2)-folds and gauge theories on the worldvolume of D(5 − 2m)-branes

Comments on the RG‐Flow in Open String Field Theory

open access: yesFortschritte der Physik, Volume 73, Issue 12, December 2025.
Abstract We define a metric G$G$ on the KBc‐subalgebra modulo gauge and describe the worldsheet RG‐flow as the gradient flow of the action of cubic open string field theory, where the flow lines are kink‐solitons. In particular, for a constant tachyon the gradient flow equations are equivalent to the RG‐equations. Additionally, a more general family of

Tropical geometry and five dimensional Higgs branches at infinite coupling

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2019
Superconformal five dimensional theories have a rich structure of phases and brane webs play a crucial role in studying their properties. This paper is devoted to the study of a three parameter family of SQCD theories, given by the number of colors N c ...

BFT2: a general class of 2d N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = (0, 2) theories, 3-manifolds and toric geometry

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2022
We introduce and initiate the study of a general class of 2d N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = (0, 2) quiver gauge theories, defined in terms of certain 2-dimensional CW complexes on oriented 3-manifolds. We refer to this class of theories as BFT2’s.

Elliptic Genus of E-strings [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We study a family of 2d N=(0,4) gauge theories which describes at low energy the dynamics of E-strings, the M2-branes suspended between a pair of M5 and M9 branes.

de Sitter Excited State in Heterotic E8×E8${\rm E}_8 \times {\rm E}_8$ Theory

open access: yesFortschritte der Physik, Volume 73, Issue 12, December 2025.
Abstract A novel duality sequence is devised to study late‐time cosmology in the heterotic E8×E8${\rm E}_8 \times {\rm E}_8$ setup of Horava and Witten with dynamical walls that are moving towards each other. Remarkably, the dimensionally reduced 4‐dimensional theory does not violate NEC and no bouncing or ekpyrotic phase is observed.

A tale of exceptional 3d dualities

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2019
We consider interesting Seiberg dualities for Usp gauge theories with an antisymmetric, 8 fundamentals and no superpotential. We reduce to three dimensions and systematically analyze deformations triggered by real and complex masses, reaching a plethora ...
