Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Effect of Thickness on the Breakdown Characteristics of Organic Insulation Materials under Microsecond Pulse Voltage

open access: yesEnergies
Thickness affects the electrical breakdown strength (EBD) of insulation materials, and the variation of EBD with thickness (d) is an important basis for insulation design.

Study on the breakdown characteristics of conductor-plane gap under vegetation fire condition based on the combustion features

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2019
The frequent forest fires become a serious threat to the performance of transmission lines’ external insulation, therefore, researches on the breakdown characteristics under flame conditions is of great significance for the transmission lines ...

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Electric characteristics of pseudo-spark during breakdown phase

open access: yes, 1993
An analysis of the time-dependent resistive voltage and power deposition during the breakdown phase of pseudo-spark is presented. The voltage and current were measured by specially designed low-inductance capacitive voltage divider and current measuring ...

Breakdown of universal mobility curves in sub-100-nm MOSFETs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
We explore the breakdown of universal mobility behavior in sub-100-nm Si MOSFETs, using a novel three-dimensional (3-D) statistical simulation approach.

Significantly Improved Electrical Breakdown Strength of Natural Ester Liquid Dielectrics by Doping Ultraviolet Absorbing Molecules

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
In this paper, we experimentally demonstrate that molecules with maximum absorption wavelength corresponding to the first excitation energy of base liquid molecules are able to significantly improve the electrical performances of natural ester oils.

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

USP29‐regulated noncanonical stabilization of the hypoxia‐inducible factor‐α in aggressive prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identify USP29 as the only DUB mirroring CA9 expression, a marker of hypoxia and HIF pathway activation associated with PCA aggressiveness. USP29 stabilizes HIF‐1α and HIF‐2α via a noncanonical mechanism that is independent of PHD/pVHL activity yet relies on proteasomal regulation, establishing USP29 as a previously unrecognized regulator of hypoxic

Bubble deformation in the repetitive pulsed glycerin pulse forming line and its relation with the liquid breakdown

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2019
Glycerin is a promising liquid dielectric for pulsed power systems because of its high storage energy density and high resistivity. In order to further improve the energy storage density of glycerin, its breakdown characteristics should be investigated ...
