Simplest breather

Physical Review E, 2018
The simplest Klein-Gordon (KG) breather is a compacton on a string subject to the force of gravity in a frictionless V-shaped trough. Its dynamics, spectrum, and energy are discussed and it is compared to sine-Gordon breathers. A generalization of this problem consists of a charged string subject to the electrostatic force of two semi-infinite coplanar

Breathers and Q-Breathers: Two Sides of the Same Coin

SIAM Journal on Applied Dynamical Systems, 2012
We construct, and approximate from the continuum, two-parameter families of time periodic, small amplitude, localized solutions, for both the focusing and defocusing finite discrete nonlinear Schrodinger models, with Dirichlet boundary conditions. Within such families, depending on the parameters, both real space localization (breathers) and Fourier ...

Coupled soliton−breather, breather−breather and breather−soliton pair formation in Kerr type nonlinear media

Optics Communications, 2015
Abstract In this paper, we have investigated coupled propagation of two coaxially co-propagating and mutually incoherent bright beams in Kerr type nonlinear media, including formation of rhythmic breather pairs. We have proposed existence lines for these rhythmic breather pairs.

Bright compact breathers

Physical Review E, 2002
In this communication we will consider the potential of some general classes of nonlinear lattice models to support bright discrete compact breather solutions (compactlets). We analyze the conditions for which such solutions are possible and classify the models as belonging in three general categories: a class with no compact breather solutions, one ...
