Breathing exercises for dysfunctional breathing/hyperventilation syndrome in adults [PDF]

open access: yesCochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, 2011
Dysfunctional breathing/hyperventilation syndrome (DB/HVS) is a respiratory disorder, psychologically or physiologically based, involving breathing too deeply and/or too rapidly (hyperventilation) or erratic breathing interspersed with breath-holding or sighing (DB).

Gradient‐Conductivity Architecture Enables Synchronous Enhancement of Sensitivity and Detection Range in Multifunctional All‐Paper Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A gradient‐engineered all‐paper sensor is fabricated by integrating MXene and in situ grown AgNPs within hierarchical cellulose networks. The device breaks the sensitivity–detection range trade‐off through cascaded conductive pathways, enabling ultrahigh pressure sensitivity, humidity–pressure decoupled dual‐mode sensing, and outstanding EMI shielding,

Increased Oxygen Saturation through Deep Breathing Exercise and Active Range of Motion in Congestive Heart Failure Patients

open access: yesJurnal Ners dan Kebidanan Indonesia, 2020
Dsypnea is a clinical manifestation of CHF due to pulmonary function failure. The accumulation of fluid in the alveoli makes the heart unable to pump with the maximum.

Breathing patterns during breathing exercises in persons with tetraplegia [PDF]

open access: yesSpinal Cord, 2003
Cross-sectional, observational, controlled study. To survey breathing patterns during breathing at rest, ordinary deep breathing (DB), positive expiratory pressure (PEP) and inspiratory resistance-positive expiratory pressure (IR-PEP) among individuals with a cervical spinal cord lesion (SCL) compared with able-bodied controls.Sahlgrenska University ...

Control of Breathing during Exercise.

open access: yesThe Annals of physiological anthropology, 1992
Although the control of breathing during exercise has been studied extensively that both neural and humoral factors may play a role in mediating the exercise hyperpnea, it remains unresolved whether the response is due solely to neural or humoral mechanisms and how the pulmonary gas exchange matches to the tissue exchange rates.

Physiological consequences of the work of breathing and of inspiratory muscle training [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
A reduced blood lactate concentration ([lac-]B) is commonly observed during whole-body exercise following inspiratory muscle training (IMT). However, whether the inspiratory muscles are, in part, the source of these reductions remains unknown ...

Computed Tomography‐ and Photoacoustic Imaging‐Active Bioresorbable Electrospun Bismuth Nanoparticle‐Infused Small‐Diameter Vascular Grafts

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A polymeric graft loaded with radiopaque bismuth nanoparticles is expected to undergo gradual polymer resorption and nanoparticle release. This design enables noninvasive, multimodal monitoring of device integrity, patency, and degradation using computed tomography alongside ultrasound and photoacoustic imaging over 12 weeks.
