Domain Walls and Massive Gauged Supergravity Potentials [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
We point out that massive gauged supergravity potentials, for example those arising due to the massive breathing mode of sphere reductions in M-theory or string theory, allow for supersymmetric (static) domain wall solutions which are a hybrid of a ...

Design Strategies and Emerging Applications of High‐Performance Flexible Piezoresistive Pressure Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Flexible piezoresistive pressure sensors underpin wearable and soft electronics. This review links sensing physics, including contact resistance modulation, quantum tunneling and percolation, to unified materials/structure design. We highlight composite and graded architectures, interfacial/porous engineering, and microstructured 3D conductive networks

On the structure and spectrum of classical two-dimensional clusters with a logarithmic interaction potential

open access: yes, 2004
We present a numerical study of the effect of the repulsive logarithmic inter-particle interaction on the ground state configuration and the frequency spectrum of a confined classical two-dimensional cluster containing a finite number of particles.

Dark Plasmonic Breathing Modes in Silver Nanodisks

open access: yesNano Letters, 2012
We map the complete plasmonic spectrum of silver nanodisks by electron energy loss spectroscopy and show that the mode which couples strongest to the electron beam has radial symmetry with no net dipole moment. Therefore, this mode does not couple to light and has escaped from observation in optical experiments.

Solvent Co‐Intercalation Enabled Ca Storage in MoS2 for Ca‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Regulating electrolyte solvation levels enables otherwise non‐intercalatable Ca2+ ions to reversibly co‐intercalate into molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) as ether‐solvated species. The intercalation reversibility is strongly governed by solvent chain length, as demonstrated using diethylene glycol dimethyl ether (G2) and tetraethylene glycol dimethyl ether (

Transient breathing dynamics during extinction of dissipative solitons in mode-locked fiber lasers

open access: yesFrontiers of Optoelectronics
The utilization of the dispersive Fourier transformation approach has enabled comprehensive observation of the birth process of dissipative solitons in fiber lasers.

Smart Face Masks as Wearable Respiratory Sensors: A Review of Sensor Technologies, Materials, and Future Directions

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This review highlights recent advances in smart face masks that actively monitor breathing. By integrating humidity, gas, temperature, pressure, strain, and triboelectric sensors, these masks track key respiratory parameters in real time. The article summarizes sensor mechanisms, compares performance across studies, and discusses challenges and future ...

A PDMS Coating-Based Balloon-Shaped Fiber Optic Respiratory Monitoring Sensor

open access: yesSensors
A respiratory monitoring sensor based on a balloon-shaped optical fiber is proposed. The sensor consists of a single-mode fiber (SMF) coated with polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) bent into a balloon shape to form a fiber optic Mach–Zehnder interferometer. The
