CEACAM1 participation in breast cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In invasive breast cancer (BC), CEACAM1 shifts from an apical to a uniform membranous/cytoplasmic pattern, or is lost, as tumors dedifferentiate, inversely tracking the Ki‐67 proliferative index. In MCF‐7 cells, only CEACAM1‐4L suppresses proliferation, repressing cell cycle and growth factor genes.

Model calculations concerning economic optimalization of AI-breeding with cattle [PDF]

open access: yes, 1975
The effect of costs on the optimum breeding plan for selection for milk traits and the profitability of performance-test selection according to meat production were studied, including the consequences of beef crossing.

Marker-assisted breeding value estimation for mastitis resistance in Finnish Ayrshire cattle

open access: yes, 2010
Marker-assisted breeding value estimation is expected to increase the accuracy of estimated breeding values, especially for traits with low heritability.

Extracellular vesicle lipidomics liquid biopsy reveals systemic and tumor microenvironment metabolic reprogramming in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Extracellular vesicle (EV) lipidomic profiling of plasma and ascites from patients with high‐grade serous ovarian cancer and of ovarian cancer cell lines reveals enrichment of triglycerides (TGs), diacylglycerols (DGs), phosphatidylcholine (PCs), sphingomyelins (SMs), reflecting tumor metabolic reprogramming.

SELEKSI CALON INDUK BERDASARKAN NILAI PEMULIAAN BOBOT SAPIH KAMBING KACANG DI KECAMATAN NATAR, KABUPATEN LAMPUNG SELATAN

open access: yesJurnal Ilmiah Peternakan Terpadu, 2014
Breeding Value is an evaluation of the quality of animal genetics for a certain character which isgiven relatively based on its position in population. This study aimed to determine the value ofheritability and repeatability of weaning weight of Kacang ...

Modelling Agricultural Systems: Applications to Livestock Breeding [PDF]

open access: yes
Traditionally the evaluation of animal genetic traits has focused primarily on production traits and the construction of selection indices. Selection indices, however, fail to consider the effect of management practices and the environment on ...

NAPRT loss promotes lung tumor initiation and growth through AKT signaling independently of NAD+ biosynthesis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of NAPRT promotes lung tumor initiation and growth through a noncanonical mechanism, independent of its role in NAD+ biosynthesis. Mechanistically, NAPRT depletion activates the mTORC2‐driven AKT/β‐catenin signaling axis to enhance clonogenic and invasive phenotypes. Furthermore, lung‐specific Naprt deletion significantly increases tumor burden in

Pedigree-Based Assessment of Inbreeding Effects on Conformation and Performance Traits in the Peruvian Paso Horse: Implications for Sustainable Genetic Improvement

open access: yesAustral Journal of Veterinary Sciences
The Peruvian Paso Horse (PPH) is a breed distinguished by its unique four-beat lateral gait. Nowadays, it faces significant genetic challenges related to declining genetic diversity and inbreeding depression, which may substantially affect conformation ...

Managing the risk of comparing estimated breeding values across flocks or herds through connectedness: a review and application

open access: yesGenetics Selection Evolution, 2007
Comparing predicted breeding values (BV) among animals in different management units (e.g. flocks, herds) is challenging if units have different genetic means.
