A theoretical and practical analysis of the optimum breeding system for perennial ryegrass
peer-reviewedThe goal of plant breeding is to effectively and efficiently select for the best phenotypes leading to the development of improved cultivars. The objectives for this review are to describe and critically evaluate breeding methods appropriate

Both cg12821679MAPRE3 methylation and MAPRE3 expression are significantly associated with overall survival (OS) of non‐small cell lung cancer. Meanwhile, MAPRE3 expression significantly modified the effect of smoking cessation on OS. Smoking cessation benefits OS merely for patients with high MAPRE3 expression.

This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

COMBINING ABILITY OF SELECTED DESSERT STRAWBERRY CULTIVARS WITH DIFFERENT FRUIT RIPENING PERIODS
The subjects of the study were the strawberry hybrids of the F1 generation, derived from the crossing made between eight cultivars: ‘Darselect’, ‘Selvik’, ‘Elianny’, ‘Susy’, ‘Salsa’, ‘Albion’, ‘Charlotte’ and ‘Filon’ in an incomplete diallel mating ...

Many patients with urothelial cancer do not benefit from treatment with pembrolizumab, while at risk of severe side effects. Changes in the levels of circulating tumor DNA early during treatment, measured by a simple and affordable assay that can be easily implemented in the clinic, can be used as a prognostic tool to identify these patients.

Development of an organizational culture of continuous improvement process across CGIAR breeding programs to support operational excellence [PDF]
To meet funders/end-users needs, CGIAR breeding programs are modernizing their breeding operations. This doesn't mean a change here/there, but a culture of continuous improvement. By adopting LEAN methodologies (LM) IRRI has been engaging the operational
