Contrasted habitat selection among Eurasian curlew populations according to landscape heterogeneity and breeding stage

open access: yesThe Journal of Wildlife Management, EarlyView.
This study aimed to quantify the spatio‐temporal use of breeding environments by the Eurasian curlew in 5 contrasting agricultural landscapes. To this end, 64 individuals were tagged with GPS devices to assess their space use according to their breeding stages and define their foraging habitat selection.

Inverse Design of Mirror‐Symmetric Disordered Systems for Broadband Perfect Transmission

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
This work introduces an inverse design approach to achieve broadband perfect wave transmission in mirror‐symmetric disordered media. Leveraging symmetry simplifies optimization and enables control of multiple reflectionless states. Experiments in microwave waveguides confirm the design of exceptional points, bandpass filters, and broadband quasi ...

Frozen Differential Scattering in Reconfigurable Complex Media

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
A localized perturbation universally results in a rank‐one update of the scattering matrix of any complex medium. The resulting differential output wavefront is “frozen”: its spatial pattern is fixed (agnostic to the input wavefront). Experiments with a programmable‐metasurface‐parametrized wireless link validate frozen differential scattering and ...

Fish Species in a Changing World: The Route and Timing of Species Migration between Tropical and Temperate Ecosystems in Eastern Atlantic.

open access: yesFrontiers in Marine Science, 2016
The presence of tropical species has been reported in Atlantic-European waters with increasing frequency in recent years. Unfortunately, the history of their migrations is not well understood.

The Arrival of Exome Sequencing in French Prenatal Diagnosis: An Exploratory Qualitative Study Among Professionals in Prenatal Diagnosis Centers: Prenatome‐SHS

open access: yesPrenatal Diagnosis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Following the first French multicenter pilot study (AnDDI‐Prenatome) focused on the implementation of prenatal exome sequencing (pES), this ancillary study aims to explore the ethical and clinical issues raised by pES within multidisciplinary prenatal diagnosis centers.

Challenges in microbiological diagnosis of invasive Aspergillus infections [version 1; referees: 2 approved]

open access: yesF1000Research, 2017
Invasive aspergillosis (IA) has been increasingly reported in populations other than the historical hematology patients and there are new questions about the performance of microbiological tools.

Prevalence of hip and elbow dysplasia in young adult dogs in Sweden

open access: yesVeterinary Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Hip and elbow dysplasia (HD and ED) are common developmental orthopaedic disorders in dogs. The study objectives were to report population‐based estimates of HD and ED prevalence at screening in young adult dogs of different breeds and to evaluate the phenotypic association between HD and ED.

HFE-Related Hemochromatosis: The Haptoglobin 2-2 Type Has a Significant but Limited Influence on Phenotypic Expression of the Predominant p.C282Y Homozygous Genotype

open access: yesAdvances in Hematology, 2009
Phenotypic expression of the common p.C282Y/p.C282Y HFE-related hemochromatosis genotype is heterogeneous and depends on a complex interplay of genetic and non-genetic factors.

Pneumocystis jirovecii detection in asymptomatic patients: what does its natural history tell us? [version 1; referees: 3 approved]

open access: yesF1000Research, 2017
Pneumocystis jirovecii is an unusual ascomycetous fungus that can be detected in the lungs of healthy individuals. Transmission from human to human is one of its main characteristics in comparison with other fungi responsible for invasive infections.

New to town: home range size, habitat selection and behavioral adaptations by urban hares

open access: yesWildlife Biology, EarlyView.
European hares Lepus europaeus have recently been shown to colonize urban areas in different parts of Europe. This appears to be a novel phenomenon, and little is known about the space use and behavioral adaptations of hares living in urban areas. Here, we describe the first findings concerning home range sizes from GPS‐collared hares (n = 3) in Aarhus
