From conflict to collaboration: how local natural resource management conventions foster peacebuilding between farmers and herders in central Mali

open access: yesDisasters, Volume 50, Issue 2, April 2026.
Abstract In the Inner Niger Delta, socio‐spatial transformations have profoundly reshaped relationships between communities and natural resources, intensifying tensions around access and management. In this context, local conventions (LCs) have emerged as essential instruments of social and environmental regulation in response to resource degradation ...

Discovery of an Optical Jet in the BL Lac Object 3C 371

open access: yes, 1997
We have detected an optical jet in the BL Lac object 3C 371 that coincides with the radio jet in this object in the central few kpc. The most notable feature is a bright optical knot 3 arcsec (4 kpc) from the nucleus that occurs at the location where the

Closing the Visibility Gap: From Work Domain Analysis to Design Requirements for Camera Monitor Systems in Mobile Machinery

open access: yesHuman Factors and Ergonomics in Manufacturing &Service Industries, Volume 36, Issue 2, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Collisions between mobile machines and pedestrians persist across worksites despite widespread use of camera monitor systems (CMS) that satisfy current design requirements. This signalizes a potential specification‐to‐reality gap and a lack of human‐centered, field‐relevant design criteria for visibility aids in mobile machinery.

Operational Investigation of Overhead Crane with Fuzzy Logic Anti-Swing Controller Using 3-D Simulation

open access: yesИзвестия высших учебных заведений и энергетических объединенний СНГ: Энергетика, 2011
The purpose of a crane control system is to provide load transfer with minimum swinging. The paper presents a developed three-dimensional simulation model of a bridge crane with fuzzy logic controller designed with application of genetic algorithms ...

A parametrically‐Conditioned Deep Learning Surrogate for Coherent Spinodal Decomposition

open access: yesAdvanced Theory and Simulations, Volume 9, Issue 2, February 2026.
Spinodal decomposition of strained alloys with cubic anisotropy is reproduced by a Convolutional Recurrent Neural Network, taking the misfit parameter as explicit input to return different morphologies. The predicted composition fields match phase‐field simulations over a broad range of parameters, allowing to reconstruct the full phase diagram.

The Crane Robust Control

open access: yesAdvances in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, 2004
The article is about a control design for complete structure of the crane: crab, bridge and crane uplift. The most important unknown parameters for simulations are burden weight and length of hanging rope.

Modelling, calculations and testing of single girder bridge crane and crane rails [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Bridge cranes are used for handling various types of cargo in the production halls, workshops, storage facilities, energy facilities, mills as well as in performing technological processes, assembly or disassembly of equipment. The main characteristic for these cranes are that a major girder (which in most cases is standard I profile) also represents a

Industry 4.0 Integration for Sustainability and Value Creation: Moderating Role of Digital and Environmental Strategy

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, Volume 35, Issue 2, Page 2192-2209, February 2026.
ABSTRACT This study investigates the combined impacts of Industry 4.0 (I4.0) technologies and digital transformation (DT) on sustainable consumption and production (SCP) and on the value creation (VC). It also examines the moderating influence of digital and environmental strategies on these outcomes.

Complex Method Mixed with PSO Applying to Optimization Design of Bridge Crane Girder

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2017
In engineer design, basic complex method has not enough global search ability for the nonlinear optimization problem, so it mixed with particle swarm optimization (PSO) has been presented in the paper, that is the optimal particle evaluated from fitness ...
