Brillouin light scattering in likso4
Solid State Communications, 1983Abstract Brillouin shift for LIkSO 4 was measured as a function of temperature inthe range 300–363°K. Elastic stiffness coefficients C 11 , C 33 and C 66 were also evaluated in this range. A discontinuity of their values was observed at 333°K, suggesting thereby a structural phase transition.

Brillouin ultraviolet light scattering on vitreous silica
Journal of Non-Crystalline Solids, 2005Abstract New experimental data on vitreous silica, collected in a previously unexplored frequency region between 60 and 120 GHz, are reported. The Brillouin ultraviolet light scattering technique has been used to measure the dynamic structure factor for two exchanged momenta, Q = 0.078 and 0.11 nm−1.

Phase-Sensitive Brillouin Light Scattering Spectroscopy
INTERMAG 2006 - IEEE International Magnetics Conference, 2006We report on the first implementation of phase sensitivity into Brillouin light scattering (BLS) spectroscopy. Combined with a time-and space-resolved BLS setup this allows for access to quantities such as the phase profile and the wave front of spin wave packets and beams.

Brillouin Light Scattering in Plastic Fibers
Asia Communications and Photonics Conference 2014, 2014We review the unique properties of Brillouin light scattering in plastic fibers at telecom wavelength, and present our recent research progress and future prospects on distributed strain/temperature sensing based on Brillouin scattering in plastic fibers.

Brillouin light scattering from polymer gels
The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1981This paper is devoted to the theory of laser light scattering from polymer gels. The principal purpose of the inquiry is the structure of the Brillouin peaks that arise from the damped sound modes that are supported by the polymer network–fluid system.

Brillouin Light Scattering in Complex Perovskites
Ferroelectrics, 2004Results of Brillouin light scattering studies of the behavior of acoustic phonons in PMN, PMT and BMT crystals in a wide temperature range are presented. It is shown that the behavior of a transverse acoustic phonon in PMN crystals is not adequately described by the mode-coupling model.

Brillouin light scattering uncertainty preliminary estimation
AOPC 2019: Optical Spectroscopy and Imaging, 2019This paper aims to give a preliminary way to estimate uncertainty on the frequency peak between 2 and 150 GHz determined by Brillouin Scattering Stimulation and corresponding to the speed of phonons inside a material excited by a 532 nm wavelength laser. The guideline follows the Guide to the Expression of Uncertainty in Measurement. A first estimation

Inelastic light scattering in liquids: Brillouin scattering
Contemporary Physics, 1971Abstract An account is given of the Brillouin scattering of light from liquids. Different contributions to the Brillouin spectrum are discussed and are shown to depend on liquid properties such as sound velocity, viscosity, thermal conductivity, structural relaxation and concentration effects. The importance of these measurements to liquid-state theory

Brillouin light scattering studies of 2D magnonic crystals
Journal of Physics: Condensed Matter, 2016Magnonic crystals, materials with periodic modulation of their magnetic properties, represent the magnetic counterpart of photonic, phononic and plasmonic crystals, and have been largely investigated in recent years because of the possibility of using spin waves as a new means for carrying and processing information over a very large frequency ...
