Scalable Multifunctional Fabrics with Boosted Intrinsic Photothermal Efficiency for Salt‐Resistant Solar‐Driven Janus Evaporators

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Scalable nylon fabrics with bioinspired light‐trapping nanostructures and 84.6% intrinsic photothermal conversion efficiency are developed for solar desalination. The Janus evaporator shows high evaporation rate of 3.84 kg m−2 h−1 and long‐term stability in seawater, offering a cost‐effective solution for solar desalination.

High‐Performing Clean Water Production by Rational Design of Functional Solar Evaporator and Vapor Condensation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An invert‐structured vapor condensation device coupled with solar evaporators featuring special vertically aligned vapor diffusion channels is developed to target both high evaporation and water collection rates. By minimizing the optical loss caused by condensed water and speeding up the dropwise condensation process, it achieves a record‐high water ...

Bioinspired Brush Reinforced Solid Slippery Coatings for Marine Photovoltaic Protection

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Plant cuticles exhibit exceptional liquid repellency and self‐healing properties, providing a novel strategy for the multifunctional self‐cleaning materials. A plant‐inspired solid slippery surface (PI‐SSS) based on surface‐grafted poly(ionic liquid) brushes and lubricating copolymer via ion‐dipole interactions are introduced, effectively protecting ...

BRINE INJECTION STUDIES

open access: yes, 1985
The program of the Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory in Brine Injection Technology is comprised of field and theoretical activities. Emphasis is given to the study of migration of injection fluids and compositional effects in the reservoir, and optimizing the heat extraction from geothermal systems. A joint injection test program with industry has also been
