Biocarbon briquettes for sustainable slag foaming

open access: yes
[EN] This master's thesis focuses on the development of briquettes made from recycled materials to promote slag foaming in the production of recycled steel. The aim of this project is to reduce the amount of carbon used in this process in order to improve the steel value chain, as nowadays all industries strive to incorporate the highest possible ...

Wood briquette torrefaction

Energy for Sustainable Development, 2005
Several torrefaction experiments using wood briquettes are reported in this paper. The torrefied briquettes weight yield lies between 43 and 94 %, and energy yields ranged from 50 to 97 % depending on the operating parameters. After torrefaction the briquettes showed an increase of approximately 15 % in heating value, and a decrease of approximately 73
