A tactical broadband omnidirectional antenna
2008 Asia-Pacific Microwave Conference, 2008In this paper, a vertically polarized broadband antenna with an adjustable shape for specific applications in the VHF and UHF bands is proposed. This antenna is a compact monopole with a pseudo-conical shape set on a rectangular ground plane, partially made of wire netting.

A broadband microstrip antenna: SGMFP antenna
Microwave and Optical Technology Letters, 2003AbstractA novel structure of broadband microstrip antennas, termed the SGMFP antenna, is proposed. It is consisted of a slot in the ground plane, a microstrip feedline supported on a substrate, a foam layer, and a patch. It can achieve broad bandwidth and high polarisation purity.

Broadband/Multiband Printed Antennas
IEICE Transactions on Communications, 2005Broadening the frequency bandwidth of antennas has been one of the major subjects concerning antenna design technologies. Two of the major subjects for microstrip antennas, which appeared in the 1970s, have also been the broadening of the frequency bandwidth and the sharing of multifrequency bands. In this paper, we describe the broadband and multiband

AbstractAn unbalanced loop antenna of simple construction is proposed for broadband linearly polarized applications. By introducing a gap in a half loop mounted vertically over a ground plane, the bandwidth of the antenna can be substantially increased relative to its classical balanced version.

IRE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 1959
A multislot antenna was built, of which the VSWR is smaller than two in the band of 100 to 1000 mc. The principle of this antenna is analogous to the one of pass band filters in which few modes of resonance are possible, appearing one after the other when frequency varies in the band.

The directional patterns (DP) of antennas for the monopulse (MP) coordinate measurement method have complex, sometimes contradictory, requirements. For a survey station, for a number of reasons, some kind of compromise must be provided between the absolute signal level and the width of the linear area of the direction finding characteristic (DFC ...

In this chapter we will study some simple dipole type configurations that can provide a broader bandwidth: the cylindrical dipole and biconical antenna. In addition, the chapter introduces the folded dipole antenna, which can provide better matching characteristics than that of the single dipole.
