Broadband dual-plate monopole antennas

open access: yesTwelfth International Conference on Antennas and Propagation (ICAP 2003), 2003
In this paper, dual-plate monopole antennas without and with a shorting pin and/or edge trimming have been studied. The experimental results of return loss have been presented, and compared with single plate monopole antennas. It has been shown that the lower end matching frequency can be lowered by 17% by using dual plates.

Wideband patch antenna through introducing co‐plane terminal

open access: yesIET Microwaves, Antennas & Propagation
Wideband operation is a crucial topic in patch structure research. Various wideband methods have been developed for patch antennas. However, some of the key benefits of patch antennas, such as semi‐space radiation and easy fabrication, are degraded.

Multi-Antenna Broadband Backscatter Communications

open access: yesCoRR
Backscatter communication offers a promising solution to connect massive Internet-of-Things (IoT) devices with low cost and high energy efficiency. Nevertheless, its inherently passive nature limits transmission reliability, thereby hindering improvements in communication range and data rate.

Broadband microstrip patch antenna

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 1998
The characteristics of a rectangular microstrip antenna with an L-shaped probe are investigated. A foam layer with a thickness of around 10% of the wavelength is used as the supporting substrate. An impedance bandwidth of 35% and an average gain of 7.5 dBi can be achieved. The radiation pattern is stable across the passband.

A broadband horizontally polarised omnidirectional antenna with stable radiation patterns

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2019
A broadband horizontally polarised omnidirectional antenna (HPOA) with stable radiation patterns is proposed. The antenna is composed of two orthogonal broadband HPOA units fed by a wideband power divider.

A New Antenna Capable of Generating Broadband Plane Spiral Orbital Angular Momentum

open access: yesIEEE Access
The plane spiral orbital angular momentum (PS-OAM), which is a special form of orbital angular momentum (OAM) beams, solves the problem of OAM beam divergence to some extent.

A wide Bandwidth Pyramidal Horn Antenna with Enhanced Gain Using Metasurface layer

open access: yesZanco Journal of Pure and Applied Sciences, 2021
A new design of a pyramidal horn antenna operating at 8-18 GHz based on the waveguide structure is presented in this paper. A metasurface layer, which consists of a set of periodic unit cells, is employed on the E-plane walls of the horn antenna ...
