Photoluminescent Color Centers on a Mainstream Silicon Photonic Foundry Platform
Silicon photonic chips route and process light efficiently but are inherently inefficient at generating it. Here, bright light‐emitting defects, W‐centers, are written into the silicon layer of finished chips from a mainstream commercial foundry: high‐energy ions are implanted straight through the protective oxide and activated by a 250∘C$^\circ{\rm C}$

A New Antenna Capable of Generating Broadband Plane Spiral Orbital Angular Momentum
The plane spiral orbital angular momentum (PS-OAM), which is a special form of orbital angular momentum (OAM) beams, solves the problem of OAM beam divergence to some extent.

Coherent Absorption Reveals Colors Hidden in a Grey Fabry–Pérot Cavity
A dielectric thin film shows colors depending on its thickness; this effect can be used to encode information normally accessible through single‐beam spectroscopy. We developed a method to conceal this kind of information, based on coating the dielectric with a matched conductor, that suppresses the color‐bearing thin‐film resonances.

A wide Bandwidth Pyramidal Horn Antenna with Enhanced Gain Using Metasurface layer
A new design of a pyramidal horn antenna operating at 8-18 GHz based on the waveguide structure is presented in this paper. A metasurface layer, which consists of a set of periodic unit cells, is employed on the E-plane walls of the horn antenna ...

Microfabrication using nano‐ to micron‐sized blocks has transformative potential for next‐gen electronics, optoelectronics, and materials. Traditional methods are limited by scalability and precision. STIC, a single‐laser system for precise colloid manipulation and immobilization using femtosecond lasers, is introduced that enables efficient 3D ...

Perspective: Hollow Core Optical Fibres for Ultraviolet and Visible Wavelengths
Hollow core optical fibres bypass material constraints that limit optical fibres at ultraviolet and visible wavelengths. However, their challenging fabrication has limited their development, and significant gains in performance remain possible. In this perspective we outline approaches to enable the next generation of fibres for shorter wavelengths ...

Photonic time crystals (PTCs) are systems in which electromagnetic parameters are modulated periodically in time, producing momentum bandgaps via temporal scattering rather than spatial Bragg processes. This review examines the theoretical frameworks, modeling, and computational tools for time‐varying media, and summarizes experimental demonstrations ...

Polymorphic Superparaelectric Engineering Boosting Energy Storage Capacity in BaTiO3‐Based Ceramics
Herein, Ca2+ incorporation promotes the coexistence of CaTiO3‐/BaTiO3‐derived paraferroelectric states, stabilizing cubic‐orthorhombic‐tetragonal polymorphic superparaelectric phases. This minimizes polarization energy barriers, facilitating full polarization saturation without compromising efficiency.
