High-Frequency Broadband Rotor Noise
AIAA Journal, 1976A method has been developed to find the absolute spectral level of high frequency far field sound of a rotor in terms of random load fluctuations on the rotor blades. The analysis deals with frequencies where the radiated sound spectrum is smooth, i.e., above 300 to 400 Hz for a typical helicopter.

The fatiguing effect of broadband noise: An EEG-based study.
Accident Analysis and Prevention, 2020Fatigue continues to be identified as one of the primary contribution factors in aircraft and motor vehicle crashes. The aim of the present study was to examine the fatiguing effect of continuous noise, noise that is present in the cabin of a truck, or ...

Trailing-edge broadband noise prediction of an airfoil with boundary-layer tripping
, 2020Hybrid methods for trailing edge noise prediction are applied to a NACA 6512-63 airfoil at zero angle of attack embedded in the actual narrow stream of the Siegen open-jet anechoic wind-tunnel.

Infants’ sensitivity to broadband noise
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1996Infants have higher pure-tone thresholds than adults. One explanation is that infants do not adopt the frequency-selective listening strategy that adults use when detecting tones. In contrast to other models of infants’ immature sensitivity, the listening strategy account predicts that infants will be more sensitive to broadband sounds, relative to ...

Broadband active noise compressor
IEEE Signal Processing Letters, 1998A broadband active noise compressor (ANCP) is presented to adapt the active noise equalization (ANE) technique suitable for practical usage. Compared to the existing broadband ANE system, the novel ANCP not only has the ability to shape the residual noise spectrum, but can also automatically adjust the residual noise power.

Identification and Prediction of Broadband Noise for a Small Quadcopter
Proceedings of the Vertical Flight Society 75th Annual Forum, 2019The growing interest in the noise of small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS) in operation has motivated this study to characterize and predict broadband rotor noise sources.

Broadband adaptive noise equalizer
IEEE Signal Processing Letters, 1996This paper presents a broadband adaptive noise equalizer (ANE) with noise shaping capability. The residual noise spectrum can be completely controlled by inserting a shaping filter in both the canceling and balancing branches. This algorithm is analyzed in steady state and verified by computer simulations.

Broadband noise in blue bronze K0.3MoO3
Physica B+C, 1986Abstract Low-frequency broadband noise was measured in the frequency range between 10−3 Hz and 1 MHz in K0.3MoO3. It was found that the measured noise spectrum cannot be represented only by a simple power law, and it is rather rugged. From this result, the energy and its distribution associated with the transition among the metastable states of the ...

Mode noise in broadband CARS spectroscopy
Applied Optics, 1985An analysis of broadband dye laser spectral noise is presented. Particular reference is given to the effect of such noise on broadband single-pulse CARS spectra. A simple theory which accurately predicts both dye laser and CARS spectral noise is presented. Methods for reducing CARS spectral noise are identified and discussed.
