Broadband and Energy-Efficient Power Amplifier Architectures

open access: yes, 2015
In this dissertation, power amplifier circuits and architectures are proposed that provide high efficiency for spectral-efficient high peak-to-average power ratio signals that are being used in modern communications systems. Using the proposed amplifier architectures and circuits high efficiency can be achieved in large frequency bandwidth.

Ultra Broadband Low Power MMIC Amplifier [PDF]

open access: yes2000 30th European Microwave Conference, 2000
A low power two-stage InP HEMT MMIC amplifier has been developed. The amplifier utilizes 0.12 µm T-gate InP HEMTs with 225 µm gate periphery. This compact microstrip MMIC is only 1.5 mm 2 in size. It exhibits gain of 12.51 dB at 15 mW of dissipated power over an operating range from 1 to 50 GHz.

A METHOD FOR DESIGNING BROADBAND DOHERTY POWER AMPLIFIERS [PDF]

open access: yesProgress In Electromagnetics Research, 2014
In this contribution, a design approach for the realization of broadband Doherty Power Ampliflers (DPAs) is proposed and demonstrated. The methodology is based on the exploitation of the wideband response of 2-sections branch-line couplers both as input splitter and output combiner of the DPA.
