Photonic‐Enabled Energy‐Efficient Transparent Neuromorphic Computing Devices: A Review

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Transparent photonic neuromorphic computing devices merge optics and brain‐inspired computing to overcome von Neumann bottlenecks with ultrafast, low‐energy processing. By exploiting transparent oxides, 2D materials, phase‐change materials, and hybrid heterostructures, these platforms enable photonic synapses, memory, and logic for see‐through edge ...

Real‐Time Ferroelectric Domain Wall Dynamics During Electric Poling and Depoling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Real‐time visualization of domain wall dynamics during alternating‐current poling, direct‐current poling, and electrical depoling in relaxor‐PT ferroelectric single crystals reveals distinct field‐dependent pathways and strong path dependence. Instant polarized light microscopy uncovers reversible domain wall nucleation, motion, and reconfiguration ...

The Mobile Broadband and Fixed Broadband Battle in Swedish Market: Complementary or substitution? [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper aims to investigate the current broadband situation in Swedish market, in particular whether the mobile broadband (MBB) is a complementary or substitute service to fixed broadband (FBB) by using multinomial logit model.

Structural Colors from Modulated Topological Defects in Molecular Smectic Liquid Crystals

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Rather than using dyes and pigments, nature produces the colors of some butterflies and beetles through optical interference phenomena. This study describes an original biomimetic strategy exploiting the spontaneous formation of modulated linear defects in thin films of 8CB, a common molecular liquid crystal.

From the “broadband ditch” to the release of the 2010 US national broadband plan. A short history of the broadband penetration debate in the US [PDF]

open access: yes
The paper provides an historical account of the policy debate that took place in the United States after the 2007 release of the OECD's broadband statistics. It explains why and in what context such a debate occurred (lack of relevant statistics from the

Space‐Time Metasurface Antenna Enabled High‐Dimensional Electromagnetic Modulation for Intrinsic Physical Layer Security

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The concept of high‐dimensional EM modulation using the STMA for physical layer secure communication is illustrated in figure. The STMA consists of a series of programmable unit cells, with 1‐bit reconfigurable phase states (0/π). The STMA is excited by a monochromatic continuous wave (CW) at frequency fc and controlled by a field‐programmable gate ...
